FORMATION ?

Postby The Bajan Bandit » Sat Mar 05, 2016 7:03 pm

With this 5 at the back , negative formation we now have , will our u-20s , u17s and all the age groups down now start to play this way ? as we have been told before about how all our youth teams up to first team play the way so when a player steps up a level he can just slot in , just wondered as who would want to send there talented kid to that kind of set-up where they are taught only to defend and trying to win a game comes second .

Not so far mate the youth sides don't play 5 at the back but the lack of a real 20s coach or any real attempt to progress the youngsters many of the better ones will go or not even come top to bottom the club is a mess just now

Cheers Hoopster , it was genuine question i asked at the game today as would hate to see our youngsters who seem to do so well having this negative formation put on them .

451 is the answer. Not really my opinion as it is the basis of how we have succeeded over numerous years. You can be as defensive as you like or push the wide defenders and midfielders as far forward as you like. A holding midfielder protects the defence and fetches and carries and breaks up the opposition.

This set up was in place for almost a year by MC himself but for weeks he is a desperate man deploying basic pack the defence tactics which anybody off the street could go with.

The key point of this formation is Gills but Canning appears to have singled him out from the team to be dropped. If we thought Gills was bad at right back then putting Lyon in there is absolutely beyond belief. The boy is being asked to play the weirdest role which is almost unexplainable and is clearly not suited to him as he continues to push hard with Kurakins for the worst full back we have ever had

Did I see Imrie drop back to sweeper role once Diaby came on ?

It really was horrific to watch. The lack of ability in that team today was clear for everyone to see including the wee kids who will not come back Why are we trying to sell Accies to them when we are stinking the place out every week?
