Our new sponsor

Postby TerracingTomas » Sat Feb 27, 2021 1:55 pm

I was going to praise the club for the latest piece of sponsorship involving SportingPay, as it seemed we had for once hooked up with a company that had some experience and money behind it. But as usual there is “something rotten in the state of Denmark”. Do they even carry out due diligence to ensure a sponsor comes without the risk of reputational damage. Do they care? Probably not. Expect the usual these are good guys response. Everything’s going “smoothly”. Aye right!

Had a wee look at Companies House, TT, on this enterprise. Minimum £1 Start Up Capital. First years (Unaudited) Balance Sheet to Sept 2019, (no Trading Account) show an overall Capital & Reserves of £1301. We both might have more than that in our respective bank accounts

However, the next set of accounts as at Sept 2020 are due to be lodged by 30 June 2021. We'll then see that there has been a massive increase in business and profitability during a time of lockdown for more than half their accounting year, and which can easily afford to sponsor Accies?

Or maybe not?

You initially mentioned due diligence, TT. Think we have both been over this course before on other "big name" Accies sponsors whose published accounts seem to show a somewhat different financial picture from that of long established profitable companies with surplus cash to burn in sponsoring football clubs for whatever reason.

Diarised for early July to have another wee look
