Celtic v Accies

Well, at least we won't have Broon refereeing the game now, far less chopping down our attacking players in the next game with them? Be thankful for small mercies?

No,we will probably be facing a rejuvenated Celtic with a new Manager against our line up which will consist of youths and reserves plucked out of nowhere.

It would be really good if Lennon is still in his job next Wednesday when the game kicks off. There’s no pay per view for this one I’m told - is that correct?

I've had a look and Hibs v Rangers is the Sky game that night unfortunately. The game is listed as being on Celtic tv but is only open to subscribers with no ppv offered.
I know it is no substitute for going to the games and many people don't like to watch the live streams but I really can't stand the thought of listening to Accies on open all mics (I presume Hibs v Rangers will be the commentary game on Radio Scotland also). Hiring a cherry picker wouldn't work for this game - you'd need to hire a New York crane!

Bluesy, you are correct. For some reason Celtic are not involved in the PPV system with the other 11 clubs.

Well game night. No new signings which is not unexpected and no word of any injury comebacks. I’m assuming same defence but otherwise who knows. This really should be an easy win for Celtic whatever their troubles. No Scott Brown for them but let’s be honest he hasn’t been a regular starter for them for the last few games.

We really need to keep this tight tonight and hope that their nerves kick in.

Back 5 almost picks itself (Easton never punted it forward once against Dundee Utd).

Worried about the midfield as usual. I'd start with big Oggie and Moyo up front and bring on Winter and Smith with half an hour to go.

Obviously not expecting anything great however I am delighted that Lennon hasn't been sacked yet. Perhaps he could be the latest to go for losing to Accies (McCall, Kettlewell) - any others anyone can remember?

Celtic paid around £300,000 for Frimpong, & he's now about to leave for Bayer Leverkusen in an £11.5m deal?? Not surprising that we struggle to sign players. Doubt if our entire squad cost us £300K

As to tonight, I still feel Sellick could be vulnerable to an immediate pressing game with us in their faces from the start. Agree that Oggy & Moyo should start.

Celtic have Edouard and Griffiths up top, so not good news for our already shaky defence. We do not expect to get anything from these games and tonight will be no different, no matter how bad Celtic are

To make things worse both Ross County and St Midden are a goal up

BBC match stats give us 25% possession and no shots on target. As Derek Ferguson summed it up “I don’t think Accies came here tonight with any belief that they could get a result.” Too true Derek too true. Oh and back to bottom again.

Cast your mind back a few years, standing in the main stand calling for Canning to go after watching another dire inspirationless performance where the only method of attack is to boot the ball up to the front two while the midfield are still in the 18yd box shoring up the defence.

What's changed?

This was the first full game i've had the chance to sit and watch this season and I thought I was having a flasback to Cannings last season.
Just not good enough, second to every loose ball, players cant pass to each other when under the slightest of pressure, don't see any progress or real development.

I await the well worn "boys gave it everything" , "we'll learn from this and move onwards" Learn whit? How to get to Ayr, Alloa & Greenock?

“I thought the boys were exceptional” a quote from Rice’s post match interview.

Only positive from tonight seems to be County being beat again. That pulls their points per game down to .76923 where we have .79166. Might all come down to that eventually.

Realistically, we expected nothing and got it.
