Greetings, one question, George McCluskey always played center forward for the Accies, right? or did he sometimes do it in another position?

A centre forward but not a target man. One of the most talented forwards we've had, was gutted when he left for Killie. Used to score a few against them.

Excellent player. Centre forward.
I only appreciated how talented he was when watching him regularly play with Accies and he was past his best by then.

Many thanks, I had my doubts about some sticker cards from the early eighties where they put him as a midfielder, and it seemed to me that he was always a center forward, he also played in three-forwards formations, but that doesn't make him a winger or attacking mid.

Got to agree that he was one of the best to ever wear an Accies top ... seems as if he had the ball glued to his toe sometimes..

Brilliant! Seem to remember at Station Park, we were either losing or drawing and George collected the ball, beat about three defenders and scored in the dying minutes of the game. Drove down the road very happy!!

Just wish we could have had him longer but Killy tempted him away with more money (naturally  )
Last I heard he was a taxi driver in Hamilton.

An Accies legend even for the short time he was with us. Talented footballer.
