Documents 77 days overdue
Registered charity from 08 August 2007
Overdue
This charity failed to provide information on its finances within 9 months of its Financial year end date. Where the number of ‘documents days overdue’ exceeds 75, this charity is classed as ‘defaulting’. We actively pursue defaulting charities using our powers under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
Found this on the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator website. Unless the Trust’s accounts have been submitted at the last minute it is now in default. If in default the charity regulator has extensive powers to obtain the information it needs to satisfy itself with regards to the charity’s financial status including entry to premises and the seizure of document and computers etc.
Sometimes this happens because the charity has ceased to exist and nobody is around to wind things up. More likely in this case it's a reflection of the shambles that is the off the field business operation of the club, stadium company etc. Like the online shop that failed to deliver orders, the 10-year plus wait for a card reader, the bank account with one authorised signatory and sponsors who haven’t a pot to piss in. While the charity is technically a stand alone operation the club channels funds for the youth academy through its books e.g. grants from the SFA and the payment of Academy coaches including salaries and expenses. Its time Ronnie, who is a very successful businessman, flexes his muscles and puts somebody in place to oversee all aspects of the business that is Hamilton Accies particularly in the current environment.
