More bad publicity?

Postby TerracingTomas » Sun Mar 08, 2020 4:36 pm

From BBC website

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51791974

And this from a Sunday Post article

The footballer, now involved in coaching, was arrested and questioned by police over the allegations. He was released without charge as police continue their investigation.

It is understood the inquiry team are looking at the alleged involvement of up to eight players and staff members in betting involving the Premiership club.

This sounds bad.

But it's only an allegation and nothing proven.

Yes, more bad publicity. And we wonder why the authorities don't want Accies in the 'big' league??

Now I see why Mcgowan was suggesting an amnesty for those in the game involved in football betting

The betting companies

Any unusual pattern in betting gets investigated.

Betting companies stopped a lot of bets as they were offering bets on first throw in and the team that won kick off just shelled it out the park, they’re would be 2 players involved, 1 would take kick off and they other would shout for it at the touchline and the other player just over cooks it.

Bets involving individual players to get booked is too easy to abuse.

     It couldnae have been that simple, could it? Or are the betting companies the ones that are simple in allowing something like this to even be part of their business sales policy?
