Motherwell v Accies

Postby Swift Frank » Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:28 am

Let's get everyone and their granny along to this vital Derby game v Them.(
It's fine, it's highly unlikely Wayne Rooney will be at the game)
Anyway on to the game and no need to stress the vitality of taking something from it.
More of the same from Pittodrie and we won't be far away.
Mon the Accies!

I’ve rearranged my weekend plans to be at Mordor. We all need to be there.

A decent, and vocal, away crowd and i can see us doing well. Literally as well as figuratively!

Stephen Robinson voted manager of the month and Jack Hastie player of the month for February , here's hoping the usual luck follows these awards . ;)

Match day!

Don't know where to put myself as this feels more like a Scottish Cup quarter final day than a run of the mill league game.

There is always a good argument to leave a winning team unchanged however...

Personally I think we should play Kilgallon however maybe keep Tshambles in if they play Main up front. That would of course mean that either Ziggy or McGowan would miss out and that doesn't seem sensible either.

Left with 15 minutes to go. Very disappointing to say the least. Dare I say it was a performance worthy of Canning. We were outplayed technically and physically by Motherwell who I got the impression were happy to ease off in the second half having got the job done in the first. Defensively we were all over the place and nothing really came from the midfield. Not sure why mcgowan was dropped but to be honest I don't think it would have made any difference had he played. Once again however Dundee fail to capitalise. We can but hope St mirren fall on Monday.

Another lamentable first half performance(seems to be a recurring theme here) where the game was over by half-time and it should have been at least five by then.

Changing the defence, playing Ziggy at right back, allowing Tshiembe to be bullied by Main allied to being miles off the pace in midfield ensured that once Well used their good wide players we were fooked.

Teams realise we play too narrow and take advantage down the wings.Plenty of times Ziggy and Sowah looked up to see no one in front of them and this lack of width plus our crap,no playmaker midfield is costing us points.

The worst thing for me though was Well used up their three subs while when I left,we had only used one and that looked a like for like.
