A couple more bits I’ve remembered. A question was asked as to whether the SFA and SPFL would merge. 'Not in my lifetime' was Les’s answer. He was also asked about the Colt teams playing in lower leagues. He said it was really about getting the old firm colt teams in and the other clubs wouldnt vote for that unless they were in. He specifically mentioned the Lowland league and having to bribe them so i took from that they would try and put them in that league. Ronnie said the club would buy the odd player as they had done during the transfer window I think he was referring to the boy from stirling albion and Spain. We would be prepared to pay fees from £10 to £20K if the right player was identified. As for Koso our new greek midfielder he said 'the boy is working hard but it just hasnt clicked for him”. I have no idea what that means.

Ronnie McDonald@Fans Forum: " Fan owned Clubs don't work"...seems to be working over The Clyde with two Semi-finals/one Final(possibly two) this season.
There again, the focus over there is on the first team with Community Projects/Youth teams not the main project.

But would a fans owned club survive a bank scam like we have apparently done? Thinks the answer is clear. No chance. And the more games the Well have to play before now and the end of the season... bring 'em on.

Lawyers representing the club against RBS seem to be on some kind of no win no fee deal, new artificial pitch in the summer same standard as the Edinburgh indoor facility, new 7 a side pitch where the little sheep pen pitch is opposite the main stand, covered indoor facility behind goals when we have the money, docherty wanted to go and we got the fee we wanted (60% up front) and a 20% sell on fee. Crawford wants to look at his options in summer no new contract club have no problem with this, in discussions with temps and his agent, seem genuinely surprised re old firm fans in the home section promised to do something about it, on the commercial side eg shop, web site didn’t seem that bothered, bank won’t give us debit card terminals.

The above was an early and good precis of the various things discussed, smc4761, in what was nearly a two hour meeting.

Subsequently heard that the old firm fans in our stand problem may stem from our sponsors who get match day tickets. They might then hand them out to employees, who then pass/sell them to A.N.Other, resulting in CelGers fans in our sections. Probably too difficult/problematic to have those tickets over-stamped "Home Support ONLY"!! Hospitality inebriates might also be a problem too.

It was made quire clear that we aspire to remain a Premier League club, but will never spend/speculate/borrow cash to try to reach the top six. Dundee's fiancial problems (again) this week-end show the folly of all that. Their near neighbours are another good example.

Would a fan owned club have fell for a simple vishing scam to begin with though? I doubt it.

Hearts also suffered the same scam.
Honestly, the sooner we all stop thinking our under 1000 fan support *a big portion of which are pensioners or children* is ever gonna 'own' the club the better.

Would a well run club fall for such a bank scam a let a "volunteer" deal with the club finances? Thinks the answer is clear. No chance.

It happened to Hearts, in a smaller way, even though they will have a far bigger professional staff than we have, with volunteers working for low/little/no pay here.

We HAVE to move on from this very serious lapse of judgment in whoever gave the authority in the first place. The bottom line is that we are still 'trading', and have had verbal assurances from the Chairman, that we will still continue to do so. We owe no-one, according to Ronnie, and although some projects may now be scrapped or put on a far back-burner, we continue to fight for our place in the Premier Division.

Given where Accies were twenty years ago, we have come a very long way, and a lot of our younger support will never really understand the desperate situation that previous owners had put us in financially, with the Club hours away from Liquidation.

Let's look ahead with some positivity, rather than looking backwards. Hind-sight is the best science available.

No wonder our chairman said at the recent forum that other club's don't want us in the Premier League with them!

From Accies FC 's own figures, it looks like we averaged only 196 away fans, at each of the 14 games played elsewhere, or 251 average away fans even including the two 'Well games in December & January.

To date it's a total of 4020 away attendances over 16 games.

But, we are here in the Premier on "Merit", which is what counts, and we look to remain so, regardless of what others might say.
