Not too pessimistic about this. The 2 games earlier this year were horrendous (actually the 4-0 was much worse than the 6-0). The league game was the first time I was shouting for Canning to go as we were almost playing with no striker at all. I think Canning MAY be learning and he needs to look at the stats from the last game v Rangers at NDP where we actually dominated them but just had a bad keeper day. Please please play with 2 up front as sitting back will only eventually lead to defeat in my opinion. Templeton and Rojano could really give them problems. A fully fit Docherty and MacKinnon in midfield together v Rangers hasn't happened in the previous 3 games this year so looking forward to that. Both of these players are much better away from home when we don't play the long ball and miss them out (Aberdeen game was the exception this year). They are our 2 most effective players.
Dougie really needs to have a rare good day if he plays (which of course he will).

I agree that we are better placed for this one than we've been for some time. And surely we can't have another crazy 10-minute spell like we did against them at NDP (when otherwise we competed throughout) - at the very least, the players should be warned about that. Some weakness in central defence aside, we look quite strong in every position: we've got width, dig, creativity, and we carry a goal threat.

The trouble is their side of it. Will they appoint a new manager by Saturday, and if so benefit from the dreaded 'bounce'? It doesn't look like it, in which case I'm as confident as possible going into this sort of game.

Can we pull off our first win at Ibrox in over 30 years?

At least we'll have a keeper this time. I still expect a shitebag performance from us though. :(

I'm still 50/50 about going along to this. I have a commitment to attend that night elsewhere so not sure I'll be able to do it. For once wish this was an early kick off or a friday night game!

If we play to our strengths with a back 4 and Daz powering from the back, we have a chance. If we have Jamieson in goals, we are fucked.
I think Rojano is physical enough to cause problems for the Rangers Cb's also, something that is not a strength of Rakish.

The game a NDP was a horrible performance with players hiding all over the park. I hope the players will actually show a bit of fight because when we do that we have chances in matches.

That's not really what happened though, is it?

We scored early, our tails were up, and we were comfortable for 20 minutes until they started running at us. In a crazy 10-minute spell, the game was lost, and understandably a few heads went down. Wrongly, because the rest of the game showed that we could have come back - the second half was pretty even with the only change to the score being a tale of 2 penalties.

With our first choice keeper playing, and learning from what went wrong with that burst of 3 goals, I'm confident we'll give a much better account of ourselves. Unless they fill their managerial vacancy in the next 48 hours, I think we have every chance of taking something.

Unless it’s Mcinness, we’ve got a good record against him, but I don’t think he’ll be at Ibrox soon, apart from when Aberdeen play them next week.

When was the last time we beat Rangers in a league game. I think we will continue with this appalling record. 3-0 to the manky mob

I think it might have been the 1930s.

So what? If we'd met them during their four-season sojourn in the lower divisions, we'd have beaten them. And I honestly think we have a chance on Saturday.
