The Pars V Accies ( scottish cup )

Postby Bomber Harris » Thu Feb 09, 2017 9:51 am

Canning saying to bbc yesterday he has 9 players out for this yet today in the papers he's talking about our march to Hampden so fair do's. Don't know much about diddy league teams like Dunfermline but think we need to be weary on our approach into this with Annan still fresh in the memory. God knows what team we will set out but I'll go for a 3 nil victory to the mighty hoops.

''diddy'' team that have done what we couldn't this season, beat Greenock Morton. Nicky Clark and old foe Kallum Higginbotham are a couple of guys who could cause some issues in the attacking third. I'd gladly get pumped out of the cup and stay out the bottom 2. I think every fans dream is a decent cup run, since we are never going to compete for the title.

I was being sarcastic about the diddyness of Dunfermline. Was a dig at the pars forum's who are loving the fact they have us at home and are already into the next round. Pars fans remind me of Dundee fans with there "we're a big team" mentality. It will be very pleasing to pump them.

They were eleven games unbeaten until Falkirk beat them at the weekend. Nine players out means no D'Acol then or Ali. Fear the worst.

Five draws in there mind, and we all know how they can be taken two ways...

Think all we're left with is Woods, Adams, Devlin, McMann, Donati, Imrie, Mackinnon, Gillespie, Redmond, Brophy and Bingham. And nothing in the way of 'experienced' subs...

I go for 1-1.

Injuries really kicking in for this banana skin game but still looking forward to it
Woods
Gills Devlin Seaborne Adams
Donati
Boyd Daz Redmond Boyd
Bingham

If the new guy is fit then Gills could replace Redmond in the middle

On paper this is a close match-up. All things being equal - both teams fielding their best XI and playing to their full potential - it should be an Accies win. But that's not how it's set up. For a start, Dunfermline have home advantage. Then we're missing more than half our first choice team. That tilts it Dunfermline's way - just.

Much as I don't want us to add a replay to our schedule, I'd settle for draw, and putting them out at NDP. This being Accies, maybe we'll somehow win the tie at East End Park.

I'd be shocked if it isn't the team we reverted to once D'Acol went off.

Canning on Radio Clyde at moment, saying there should be no reason why we cannot reach cup final. Think he needs to be tested for drugs.

Given our recent cup runs, the fact that we cannot seem to win games, and even in this round playing Dunfermline who will have a big crowd and are playing fairly well.

Hope we do it but with injuries/suspensions think we will struggle

Dawned if you do and dammed if you don't.

After months of slagging the club off for negativity / practicality, the club starts talking us up and some fans are still unhappy. Oh well you can't please some of the people any of the time

Dunfermline are an average championship team. If we go there and struggle then we can really see the limitations of our team.

This should be a comfortable 2-0 win with plenty possession

If we don't draw definitive conclusions from beating both our closest rivals recently, then it's fair to say tomorrow won't impact on our survival too much; other than perhaps a victory would keep the uber critics at bay and that will help our league campaign.
