Not looking forward to this , no centre halfs only fit 1 is seabourne could be a make shift defence. Still. No sign of a full back or striker signing either makes for grim reading .

Anything here would be a bonus, just hope it's not a pumping as that would kill any confidence built up from the cup win , and we need confidence going into our next 2 massive home games.

Sean Want looked ok to me - play him and Dougie or the wee kit man at the back- keep Seabourne well away from any first team action though

Surely the defensive crisis is forcing the return to a back 4 which is more standard and for young guys like Sean and Scott to fit into. Personally I fear Sean doesn't have the physique yet and that McGregor looks more up for that fight - but the latter played the U20s game the other night so I think Sean will get the nod. Back 4 with Dazz protecting, Ali and Redmond in midfield with Longrdige and Dougie wide; with D'Acol up front would be my preference.

I can only think of 1 decent result I have seen up there to go with a few hidings I have witnessed. Anything is a bonus and the challenges to follow are huge. The delay in the alleged signings could be costly.

Pumped again by St Johnstone, who really are our bogey team

Never mind, we are punching above our weight, we were unlucky, never took our chances and with the injuries, but the ladies have been looking good in training, blah blah blah

I can't accept that 2 up is our best option in general. However away at Perth with a defensive crisis and 2 young defenders is way beyond me. If we carried on with the 3 / 5 at the back as well that would be even worse. I thought Watson was a strange pick but I haven't seen him in the U 20s.

Where do we start

1. Goals lost from cross balls
2. Goal conceded minutes after half time
3. Canning one game of his own record of games with out a win.
4. Bizarre starting formation away from home
5. Subs to late in the day

Well done martin your consistency is your greatest strength!

Ow we have improved the squad in Jan. Just replaced a left back with another.

Sack the board

Hope they will stand by that season ticket refund promise. I bought one naively assuming that we would have recognised full backs from day one. Here we are almost in February...

I'm sorry but, if you don't take the gilt edged chances that present themselves and then lose those goals, you get what you deserve!

Accies, for the most part, played the better football but, simply, can't defend! Individual errors and piss poor finishing have been our undoing this season.

Only positive is that we aren't marooned at the bottom of the league.

MacKinnon, again, was our best player.

Redmond saw plenty of the ball but kept trying World Cup Willie passes and Crawford needs to find his shooting boots as he is the only one that gets himself into these positions.

D'Acol can do one! Bingham has potential, I think, but needs a couple of goals.

McMann seems a reasonable defender but, with the ball at his feet, he is a complete bomb scare.

We now have two massive games with 4 pts (minimum) necessary to give us a fighting chance.

The biggest frustration for me is that aside from the top 3, or 4, we are the match of the other 7 teams.

If we don't start taking more chances, we will be relegated. Simple as that!!!

What an embarrassment. Only ones that can keep their heads high this season are Crawford, Gillespie and MacKinnon. Maybe Woods as well. The rest hide away almost every game, and they're either not any good or don't care. Personally, I've realised that there's no way we'll stay up.

3 down, need goals and we replace one CF with another, dont get it.
As for no RB why not blood one of the 2 we had at the start of the season frim the 20s for say 6 games and mave Gills back into midfield. If it doesnt work then drop the youngster and look for a RB. If it works then its a bonus.
But then again maybe Canning just cant bring homself to drop a mate.
Its probably too late to throw a youngster in under these circumstances now.

We can sign 4 goalkeepers and Richard Roy, but can't bring in a right-back! I've said this countless times, but we were playing with a 3 v 2 in our favour in midfield - what's the point when we're just playing it over their heads and not utilising it?

In fairness, accies1874, I thought the midfield 3 saw plenty of the ball yesterday, moved it around to reasonable effect without having that killer pass.

If we are to save ourselves Ali will need to start finding the net again.

Like a broken record. To be fair, St Johnstone are a better all round team IMO, not gifting goals like we do.

Do we need to just employ a team of 6 foot 7 centre backs to make up for the lack of power/defensive capability in the air vs crossing? I'd like to see the stats on goals conceeded via crosses for the past 18 months.
Seabourne plays much like Brophy, like he is on fucking ice skates.
Mackinnon has been player of the season and continues to work his socks off, whereas the once reliable Imrie is playing like he's terrified to take a defender on.
the floating long ball is very reminiscent of late Billy Reid tactics, it's absolutely guff to watch and we simply don't have the aerial capability to do much with it.

The next 3 league games are ABSOLUTELY must wins. Canning has broken a 60 + year record already as manager for most games without a win, we have just been lucky that teams like Dundee UTD and Inverness are having worse nightmare runs than us. If the board don't support signings of COMPETENT players, then I think we may just have lucked out.
The biggest problem I have, is I can see the potential in the current squad, it just needs a few good reliable bodies and we could comfortably climb out the rut.
