In order to stay up I would suggest that Thistle are the most important team to beat and finish above............let the relegation dog fight commence!

A must win to put down a marker. They caused us problems last season, but look weaker on paper.Should be a decent crowd in both ends as the first game and we will see what of our new players look up to the task.

Good to be home for the first game of the season but hopefully unlike last year we won't be caught like rabbits in the headlights. Pre season seems to have gone well from a squad building point of view. As to how it might go I,ve no idea. It's going to take a few games to assess the new signings and their worth. stick my neck out though and predict a 2 - 0 home win.

Looking forward to the season starting back again. I think we will line up like this;

McGovern

Ziggy Jesus Lucas Kurtkins

Gillespie Dazzler

Imrie Crawford Longridge

Nade

Don't think that team has enough goals in it, would swap LL for the Greman.

Morris on the bench to come on after 60/65 minutes unless we are going to break with the past and go with both of them on from the beginning.

Is Dazzler not suspended for this game?

I'm sure Ziggy has only had 45mins game time pre season in our last friendly so I'd be surprised to see him start on Saturday.

If the Dazzler is suspended I expect Turner to start, If Ziggy is not fit then I can see Darren Lyon playing RB.

First games are always hard to judge and Thistle fans are as un sure as we are. Middle of the park and upfront will be the most interesting team choices, perhaps for both teams

Looking forward to this, full of pre season optimism.... :lol:

Nah seriously, looking forward to it and hopeful we will put in a strong performance and earn a convincing victory.

Would really help confidence in this new squad to get off to a good start.

I would be very surprised if Kurtaj didn't start. I have high hopes for this guy. Could he be the next best thing to Andreu?

Love the comment earlier that this is a "must win". I've heard it all now!
