I would bite your hand for a draw. Aberdeen are on form and although we have remained solid at the back in the last 2 games we can’t score. On paper then an Aberdeen win but as ever I’m optimistic for something :)

Thank god, the game isn't played on paper then

Agree that a draw would be a good result.

Throw in Sumsky and see what he can do, also get Lee Lynch and Lucas on the bench. We can't do any worse than we have been. Things may be about to change :D

IMO no bad thing Brophy back with Under 20's as he's not been giving enough game time with first team. Forgot about McDonald he deserves a chance coming off bench instead of wasting Gillespie out of position.

Hammy Ad has Nigel still not having international clearance yet and perhaps will not even be available by Sunday.

Confirmed on official site that Nigel’s clearance not expected till middle of next week. It does say Brophy should feature hopefully for more than 8 minutes.

I think the best chance of getting anything out of this game is keeping it really tight at the back, and hoping for a 0-0 score.

Can't really see us making many chances, and less chance of scoring, so the whole defence and indeed team need to work efficiently to keep Aberdeen away from our goal.

I would set out 4231, with Gillespie and Routledge guarding the back 4.

Do you see any of the new signings starting Sunday?

I would set out:

4231.

McGovern
Gordon Canning Devlin Hendrie
Gillespie Routledge
Sumsky Redmond Crawford
Scotland

I'd like to see Redmond in the central AM role, as he's the nearest thing we have to 22, and his deft touches would release the striker. My only reservation with that was 22 was a battler, whereas Redmond is a bit lightweight, but then again most of our midfield is that way.
I've only chosen Scotland over Brophy for his experience.
Keep Mackinnon on the bench until he gets his finger out.

Dundee and Kilmarnock score and get the 3 points with the last kick of the ball! Not good!

this is a great chance to get right up the back end of Dundee united, martin is needing to be more positive and play a more attacking side because with andreu and curier away and hasselbaink still not having clearance, who is going to get the goals ? not Scotland up there himself, he needs to be partnered with brophy.

my team tomorrow would be

McGovern
Gordon canning tena hendrie

Gillespie routledge Crawford Redmond

Scotland brophy

oh and macdonald for hendrie if he can only play 45mins now.

IMO opening up by playing 2 strikers for the first time from the start would be suiting them. Scotland isn't good enough often enough but that doesn't mean we weaken the whole team set up. He needs to be told he has 55 mins max and to chase everything; too often he neither moves to come short or looks for the ball into the channels or in behind. That would also give Brophy a decent chance to settle and play against a tiring defence.

The problem might again be trying to shoe horn Gills and Routledge into the same team - for me its one or the other unless Gills plays in defence - is Hendrie fit ? Get Crawford into the centre in the Andreu position.

For as much as it would be a great temptation to play 442, I just feel that Aberdeen would run over the top of us.

Our only hope is to keep it tight, that means some variation of 451.

Sky Sports (recorded) for me :-(

Missing 1st home game in at least 4-5 years due to my 1 Sunday in 6 at work being this one + couldn't get a swap or holiday cos Valentine's weekend meaning folk were away etc

Not expecting much as Aberdeen will come at us as they have to win to have any hope of keeping up with Celtic

According to BBC website, Nigel due to start today.
Don't know if that's only speculation or not.

Anyway, hope it's true

He'll likely now have a stinker of a game! :(

Ok. He better be in place by next week's game, or serious questions need to be asked.
No point signing a player and we're unable to play him.
