It's pretty bad this week but then there isn't really any Accies news to print. Motherwell have their own local paper though so I've never understood why they feature at all. The Accies coverage throughout the season is pretty good though and is million miles away from how they covered the club in the 80s and 90s.

Andy, the Sport editor is on holiday, so that's why there is little Accies coverage. He is an Accies fan.

Yep have noticed over the years the content isn't consistent.
Was always intermittent coverage of the North Lanarkshire unwashed but seemed to tail off a bit thankfully.
Hopefully Gaspode you are right and when Andy is back from holiday they focus on HAMILTON Accies in the HAMILTON Advertiser.

I've always wondered why a south lanarkshire weekly paper covers a team from North Lanarkshire but never covers the pub team from East Kilbride. Does the the weekly rags from the unwashed north shire cover stories about accies and the East Kilbride pub team?

What is there to report at the minute from an Accies perspective? To my knowledge we haven't made any signings, but have released a handful of players? They cant print news if there is none! Agree with some of the previous posts - during the season itself the content is great. Andy is passionate about Accies and that comes through, IMO anyway.

How about a bigger piece about the season ticket prices .....

It doesn't matter to me that there's nothing to report on Accies just now.
Still don't want to see anything resembling Motherwell in the paper.
Would prefer a blank page.
Or an article on extreme paper folding for beginners.

Agreed - but in that case its up to the club to buy the advertising space and get the word out there. The Advertiser is a business and operates as such. I would be making the point to the club that they should be doing more to push the season tickets.

A full page spread would have been excellent - or a banner on the front page!

Doesn't need to be a half page advert ... just an article talking about the season books would be enough

Appalling today. Not even a mention of Accies but we have a half page on Motherwell written by Andy McGilvary so we don't have the he's on holiday excuse this time.

I'm aware we have signed no one to report on but write something about the training camp in Spain or season tickets or interview Martin regarding aims for the season just something for our Hamilton paper to promote our Hamilton team.

Does it really surprise anyone?

He wrote last week's stuff too. Maybe they are saying to Accies, give us something to talk about and we'll print it. That's now three weeks in a row with nothing about season ticket prices. I left it on the news stand.
