Stick with Brophy

Here is an idea!! Why don't we wait until the start of the season to see who we have brought in and then judge them. It's all doom and gloom, get a grip!!

Oh yes that's a great idea.
By that time practically all our rivals have they're signings in place and starting to gel as a team while we are still clutching at Euro pish straws as usual.
Like we can afford to do that.

It is what it is. You and everyone else moaning about it matters not a jot!! We will just need to wait and see what players are brought in. At least wait and see what gems/euro duds we bring in and then moan. Anyone who expected us to announce any signings prior to July 1st were deluded. Obviously now we have trialist in and checking whether they are worth signing or not. Unfortunately that is how it Is!!

On Brophy - like him but seems to spend more time on his arse waving his arms in protest than fighting for the ball. He clearly has talent (strong scoring record in U20s) but I think he needs to toughen up a bit to make an impact on the first team. Would like to see him stay and bring that fight into his game.

Agree that the £250k we got should go back into the squad. When we get windfalls like that surely the board can set some money aside for investment?! But also understand that the club has a model and doesn't want to break that. Financial prudence has allowed us to get to where we are without debt etc.

The unfortunate position we find ourselves in is that players typically know they will be able to get a better deal from other clubs, so will often wait before considering us as a last resort. At one of the forums last year Les mentioned that we had tried to sign Billy McKay but he ultimately chose Inverness - imagine there are multiple other examples too.

Fingers crossed we can find a few gems in the Euro Trash - e.g. Skondras and Gogic

Both shopping trollys on trial Rossi & the Dutch bloke are not signing and been sent home. Imagine being worse than Richard Roy and not getting a contract. Anyone else sick of the Rudi Vata catalogue of shite we keep taking from him?

Where are you getting your info from?

I seen a message from there agent.

1. Rossi hasn't even joined up with the squad yet, he is due on Wednesday.

2. The defender is away for a trial with shamrock rovers and will more than likely play against Celtic when doing so, perhaps he want's to explore his options (we all know we pay poorly).

1. Both players where in the squad picture from yesterday
2. Andy from advertiser has both players are not signing
3. Where are you getting your info from POL?

We will probably watch him play v Celtic to see if he's good enough as we don't have any 1st team friendlies to judge any possible signings , this is a matter I will bring forward at the forum with les.

For a club like us who continue to sign free agents yet never seem to have any friendlies is a disgrace. I could train with a team for a few weeks and look decent but when you get on the park and play against another team it's completely different .

Fact these guys haven't been signed yet and Richard Roy was given a contract doesn't fill me much hope anyway .

Stephen O'Donnell signs 3 year deal with Killie. Seems we can't even compete with them.

I assure you if you check again Rossi is not in that picture, there does appear to be another trialist who is not Rossi. I've checked Andys twitter and can't see him saying we have turned them down? and as i said before, a direct message with the players agent.

You better check again then. I can assure you both my points are valid and both said players are in that picture

What's the chances,on the balance of probability, that the latest bunch of "European chaps" turn out to be pish?

Ffs. Change the record! The way we sign players is not going to change any time soon. Get over it!

When are we going to adapt a proper signing strategy?
I'm sick of this Euro pish policy of getting in the dregs when every other mob has their squad in place.
Have I mentioned this before?

So true.
It raises the question,
Are Accies capable of forking out even 100k on a player?
Or just totally unambitious?
Probably the latter.

100k on a player, are you high??

Do you seriously believe we have that kind of money? Also what wages would a 100k player demand? On what length of contract? Would it guarantee us top flight football, if not does said player get released or would there be a clause in his contract that they take a wage drop? If at the end of the contract do you think we could continue to offer improved terms or do you think we would get gazumped and get no return in our outlay??

Before anyone says it... yes I know we are going to receive 250k for being in the top league but so is each of our competitors. The only difference being they sell thousands of season tickets where we sell a few hundred. Their weekly gate receipts will dwarf ours, meaning they are a more attractive club for businesses to advertise with all in all this means they are wealthier more attractive option than us.

It has been discussed to death that r have weaknesses in marketing and public relations but until we get these areas sorted the money we do generate from player sales and UEFA bonuses is most likely required to supplement gate revenues to maintain the level of squad we do have therefor the funds won't be there to improve the squad remarkably!!

What a lot of pish Davidson
Are you high?
100k on a player in the Premier League, what's so outrageous about that?
We've only taken in about £5m plus in the last 7 or 8 season's in transfer fees, add ons, sell ons and compensation for Alex Neil,UEFA money etc,
Get real.

I am sure we spent £180-200k on Tomas Cerny back in The Billy Reid era and this was before we sold the two James'.
