Albeit it was a long time ago.
Long before the constant "smallest budget " and smallest team and "punching above our weight" tripe.

I've supported accies since the early 70s and our support has never been consistently above 3000, so yes ,it was a long, long time ago. Oh,and i love your Gaspipe joke. It's really, really funny, and clever.

3000 would be double the home fans we have now and taking into account away fans our average attendance would probably be 6th /7th highest currently in the top league.

Wonder when accies will announce on there marvelous and very informative twitter feed that fanny fur speaks so highly off that Accies legend Jason Scotland returned to the club 2 weeks ago and has taken up a coaching role. Very good appointment imo and will help our only striker at the club rakish bingham get better I hope.

I think this thread is going a bit off topic here.

Anyway, apparently we have signed an Italian striker who played as a trialist in Oban.

Wonder what happened to that boy from Man City? I heard he played good in Oban too.

Realistically we're no better and no worse than the start of last season.
On the negative side Dougie is older and Devlin is injured, but on the positive, Gogic will step into the defence, Templeton adds to the attack and Docherty and McMann are more experienced, with more good young players ready to step up. Skondras has re-signed and we've signed Rojana as a replacement for D'Acol.
Most of the teams around us have lost their best players, Boyce, Lindsay, (probably Moult next).
Only Aberdeen, Celtic and Kilmarnock? look to be stronger or on par from last season.
Maybe I'm trying too hard to be positive but as we're no weaker and we've got a good team spirit, as things stand I'm feeling good about the new season.

Rojano is the top scorer for Real Potosi, a mid table Bolivian side, with 15 goals in 33. I obviously have no idea what the standard's like there, though.

all I could find was the stats I had above.
I've seen some Peruvian and Bolivian games on Bet365 streams, amazingly awful. Worse than MLS with yellow grass.

I'll ask this again - why have Accies been unable to produce ONE decent striker from their youth set up in over a decade?

So instead of Euro trash we are maybe deviating to South American dross?
Have we uncovered that Continents answer to Rudi Vata?

We've produced a few who've been decent with other teams at lower league level e.g. Andy Ryan just not an SPFL prolific striker.
The best striker Celtic's youth system has produced this decade is James Keatings, the Championship striker who gets released when his team are promoted.
It's not just us who can't produce a decent SPFL striker, it's all the Scottish teams.
I think the last young striker everyone was talking about was Stokes at Falkirk and he was an Arsenal youth. The last young Scottish striker produced up here was probably Simon Donnelly....who's long retired.

wtf you on about? Kenny miller ( Hibs) Ross McCormack( rangers)Steven Fletcher(hibs) Leigh Griffiths(Livingston), Jason Cummings(hibs) have all came through youth systems of Scottish clubs and all have been Million pound plus players. Probably more I can't think of but that's just a handful of strikers that I can think of.

Last striker to come through the ranks and make it was Colin Cramb although I can't remember if Paul Hartley was a striker with us b4 he became a midfielder at other clubs.

Ok Hibs produced Miller and Fletcher and the fat guy who's now in jail, can't remember his name, and Hearts produced Cummings.
Forgot about Griffiths
