Alex D'Acol Appreciation Thread

D'Acol doesn't get nearly enough praise given his work-rate and link-up play. The fact he is classed as underrated is mental. He's vital to our style, and we sorely missed him when he was out. He is also technically excellent.

Yes he fits into the system gives defenders a hard time, picks up possession and holds it winning free kicks etc. The key to getting the best from home is support from Ali, Dougie and a wide player on the left - not Bingham.

Definitely
We perform much better when he's in the team.
Scored a few vital goals, but equally has cleared off the line on at least 2 occasions I've seen.
Now a vital player.
Hopefully we'll hold on to him for the next couple of seasons.

Reminds me of George McCluskey. Big, slow and can score a goal and also held a ball up for others. Don't know his contact situation but I'd extend it.
Fat Alan has left the building. Cheers ta pirate

I think I'd have to be president of this fan club as I've been singing his praises for the past year haha.
When others were slating him for lack of goals, I could see the contributions being made, the runs off the ball, challenges in the air and holding up the ball. He still isn't getting nearly the service he deserves *how often is he set up for a shot at goal per game? * but I hope we can build on the rakish/d'acol relationship. Pace and strength, great combo.

The days are long gone from this song to the tune of "Daddy cool" when he hadn't scored either in first team or under 20s

He'll never score a goal
Alex D'Acol

Some great performances

Absolutely brilliant again yesterday. His penalty added to a wonderful performance, and it took his total tally up to 9 (seven in the league). He looks like a player that's brimming with confidence.

He fits great in our system and his fitness problems are probably why he hasn't flourished as well, to date, as his ability suggests he can.
