David Templeton signs

Postby Stevie Clarke » Fri Mar 24, 2017 3:47 pm

Wish him well but he hardly tore up the lower leagues. Injury prone and apparently isn't keen on artificial pitches! Would rather see Boyd, Cunningham and Tierney get a chance.

Good signing if he was fully fit.

why does he's deserve a chance? imo no he doesn't. We have a thread praising the u20's but this guy deserves a chance lol. I'd rather see players from that squad getting a chance rather than a Barry Hughes player that hasn't played since 2015 get a chance. Another waste of a wage

Edited a post due to unacceptable language, gave a warning, and tidied the thread.

Back on topic now please.

Why do we sign a winger if we don't play with wingers?

To give us options. We are so one-dimensional it's unbelievable. For what it's worth, I think it'll be a poor signing, but now's the time to do it; the international break gives him a wee bit more time to get fit. He hasn't played all season, though, and he only got 3 games last season. This is a bit of a back handed compliment, but aren't gonna sign anyone better at the end of March. Look at Kemy Agustien

Given the apparent certainty that some can apply to future events, I assume they make handsome winnings from their local bookmakers

Krispy Kremy was so fat he should never have been signed in the first place, hopefully Templeton is fit enough to be selected. If not then a waste of time and money helping him get fit.

MC saying he won't be involved this weekend and he will start with U20s. So not fit enough even as an option from the bench.

I really hope this signing works for us.

But if he is not fit for this week, then I am struggling to see the point, only 9 games to go and the way we are playing we could be down before the split, the next 4 games are where we needed something fresh.

I hope this works too, but the cynic in me is struggling to see the merit in signing a chronically injured player who hasn’t kicked a competitive ball for 20 months (6 mins as a sub) and who I’ve been informed can’t handle playing on artificial surfaces. Oops silly me he is with a certain agency.

Played 55 mins for the U20s and scored in a 4 nil win. I wonder if 55 mins was his tank or if he was being considered as an option for upcoming games.

I think perhaps the 4g pitches he was playing on/injured on aren't quite upto the quality of the NDP one.

Spoke to a Killie fan who was there last night and he thought Templeton looked slow and unfit but his touch and skill were good.

Looked slow and overweight last night and not particularly effective. He scored with a header teed up well after a great run by Longridge. Loads of work required over the next 2 weeks if he is to help us after the split. Hopefully on some kind of wage linked to some extent on appearances.
