I suppose it makes sense in that the decision to release him was taken by Alex Neil and our new manager obviously sees things differently and wants him back. I assume he has promised him more game time. I'd give him the next few games from the start and just ask him to give us a good hour then bring EB or MAC on.

West Ham back in for Hendrie!

Is Jason in as a player and coach? I hope so

Re-signing Jason solely as a player smells a bit of desperation, however bearing in mind that we have a management team of 2 centre halves bringing him back as a coach (and back up) brings a bit of balance to the coaching team and makes some sense. Although I wouldn't be hugely surprised if as of Feb 1st we had striking options consisting of Scotland, Loy, Brophy and an injured Andy Ryan.

I am sure there will be some underlying logic for this; it just seems hard to find and its hard to see how we need more coaches?

Its another wage on the wage bill that I cant see giving us that much. The rumours of MACs 'disagreement' with the club will be a factor.

Don't agree it's desperation, no one wanted him to leave in the first place!

The story I'd heard was that he could see how honking Curier was in the Motherwell game and reckoned that, if he couldn't get a start with Curier not at his best, he'd be better to move on. No idea if there's any truth in it.

I'm pleased he's back with the squad.

Can't really understand this, thought the time was right for Jason to go as it was obvious his best days were behind him. Can only Imagine he will have some role in bringing Brophy on and imparting his experience

I know Alex Neil did not like him but Greag Spence is on fine scoring form. If we can't get Loy would he not be a good option?

I'm assuming with Curier's omission from both today's squad and last weeks team that he is on his way??
If so, we need someone......end of story!!

Does anyone know (or suspect) that we'll bring in Loy before the window closes?

Looks like MAC will be leaving, so could we not offer MAC as part of the deal.
i.e MAC plus say £50k to bring on Loy now.

Hope Accies have got plans to bring in some new faces before tomorrow, especially forward thinking players.

Fingers crossed that we'll not lose any other players before the summer.

I certainly don’t know and I’m not convinced we will up our bid but I hope so. We made a bid well over a week ago then the Hendrie deal seem to go pear shape so presumably not a lot of spare cash available given we have spent on a strengthened management team. Now that Hendrie has signed and the club have agreed a development fee perhaps we will go back in for him. As he is 26 a significant fee would still be an investment. Scotland is a stop gap resigning (a welcome one nevertheless ). Anyway we have until midnight tomorrow.

We got £250k (I believe) from the Alex Neil deal and obviously more coming in for Hendrie.

Surely we couldn't have blown all that setting up the new Management team. After all Canning was already a wage (no doubt he's getting more now). Same with Imrie.

I know we're not a club for splashing the cash, but I'd like to see more ambition outside just developing young players (albeit we've been spot on with our academy last few years).

I'm confident that we will get in at least one or two more new players in, maybe even loaners.

This would be typical of Accies, when you think about it.

Getting a player from a team in a lower position than us......and not only that, a player who can't even get a regular game with that club.

Couldn't tell you jack s**t about Nathan Eccleston, to make a comment upon him.
