Attendance last night

Postby Big Wurzil » Wed Feb 15, 2017 10:25 am

1,222 for a home tie against a championship team with the potential of a quarter final at ibrox and that's what we get. And it was £15 to get in. Doesn't help the players as the atmosphere was non existent.

The other argument is if MC keeps churning out those type of performances(forget the result) we'll be lucky to get 222 in the future.

That was truly awful last night, worst I've seen yet this season.

In the Tap Room before game (dead) spoke to 2 different fans who have chucked it.

Reason - Canning.

Only 2 I know but there are obviously a lot more not going anymore and this is at a time where we could potentially make a semi final & extend our current stay in top division to a fourth season.

I was all set to go, went on twitter and saw the team. That, in my opinion, was a weakened team and the club are clearly more concerned with Saturday. So I stayed away. Bollocks to them, I'm not paying £15 to see an experiment. Adams has looked good, can play on either side and he's dropped for Watson. No harm to the lad but he's just back from a long term injury. I expect our strongest team for a cup match, I've had 30+ years of cup disappointment, so when I see them taking the piss I reserve the right to withdraw my support.

Our lack of thought about cups is again highlighted by them letting Steven Boyd become cup tied. We could have Mackinnon, Crawford, Docherty, Longridge, Lyon and Redmond all out!

I can only imagine how low the attendance would've been if we didn't set lower prices...

Apart from Watson the rest of that 11 have plenty of 1st team experience so hardly an "experiment" of a team

Valentine's Day,three days after a costly away day out and no Season Book;that is the reasons for the crowd right there.

Craig Watson had a very steady game last night, unlike Dan Despair. The new Greek full back Skondros? look positive and competent after he cam on later.

Without a seaon ticket, it is hardly a surprise that PATG supporters are voting with their feet where performances and team set-ups are poor.

why can we not just enjoy the moment and enjoy being in the quarter finals.

p.s listened to sportscene podcast, re Martin Cannings aftermatch comments.

all he said that Rangers were a top team, never felt for one minute did I feel he was being defeatist.

It's all the doom mongers that have us beaten already.

How can we have so many negative threads & comments the day after reaching the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup for only the 14th time in the club's history.....?

The thread wasn't negative it was a mere observation.

So you think 1,222 of which they brought roughly 300 for a game to reach the last 8 of a competition that we've only achieved 14 times in 143 years is some sort of achievement? Really?

Papers today quoted only 700 Accies fans at the game. Their figures not mine. Don't think there were 522 from Dunfermline but???????

And I agree. I saw the thread as an observation. I'm as delighted as everyone else that we are in the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup, but still as unhappy that MC sees Rangers as a 'Top Team'. We should NOT have any fear of this current Rangers team.

Rangers are a top team, get over it for fuck sake. Stop being a prick on picking up on MC's comments. If he'd said they were a shite team he'd have got laughed at for making stupid comments. Canning can't win either way.

Rangers have a far superior budget than us and always will have by fair means or not so his comments are fine by me.

Out of curiosity how many of our players would get in rangers top team line up?

My comment was pretty miserable, so apologies for that. Accies tweeted that Dunfermline brought 524, so 698 in home stand.

I must admit I thought that was a head scratcher. Then I remembered it was a cup tie, with Dunfermline getting a share of the gate. So I guess officials, players, comps, media and anyone else in the main stand who didn't pay, wasn't counted.
