Don't sell #22

Was talking with my dad after the game, now we all know Toney will be attracting a lot of intrest from bigger clubs. The question is when offers come are we in a position to not sell 22 or is their a price we just could not refuse? Would not want to stand in the way of him but would like to keep him till the summer as we need his goals!

If he keeps up this form and we keep him till the summer and keeps scoring goals. Then yes he possibly will be.

What is the most goals scored by an accies player in the top flight in one seasion?

Mensing got 10 in 2009/10 I think which was our SPL record. MAC might have got around that as well but nobody's had more than 10 from the SPL years but don't know before that as I wasn't even born the last time we were in the top flight.

And Mensing's 10 would have been mainly penalties. Our two Prem seasons in the 80s were dire, I doubt anyone got more than six. Safe to say Tony will be our record top league scorer in the modern era before very long, though it's worth saying that Mac and Ali's totals are excellent too.

If you have a look at the 'Seasons' section in this website, you can see who our top goal scorers etc were:

A tremendously talented player; I fear we must enjoy whilst we can.

Does anyone else think that Tony might end up at Celtic.
I actually hope not (couldn't think of a worse club to end up at)

Anyway, with the John Collins connection and the fact that Commons might leave Celtic soon, I'm sure Celtic will be looking at Tony with envy.

Like others are saying Andreu is a fantastically talented player, so we need to cherise the time he's with us, as I feel personally that he'll not be with beyond the summer.

I just hope that that we get a good chunk of money, when he does depart.

I'm sure he'll leave with everyone's best wishes and thanks.

Alex quoted in the paper saying we have Tony in contract for 'this year and next' - not sure if that means until June 2015 or until the end of next season 2016 ?

That would be great, I thought it was just a single year but your recollection and Alex's comments point to a 2 year deal :D

Now with the rumours that we did not play 22 as he is off to Celtic .

I hope not but it has made me ask what would Celtic pay for him? Or would we get a lot more for epl clubs? What is his value £350k?

Let's be under no doubt we are a selling club and it wasn't for the MacArthur money we would be struggling to keep our youth development going and develop other areas such as the Accies Dome. The last player we got offered money for was Fraser (60k) from Bolton and that fell through. If a decent offer comes in for Toni we will take it. however as he is on a 2 year deal we can afford to wait until the close season. Going into next season if he hasn't gone the clock starts ticking on his value. If Celtic come in for him expect a derisory offer. If a club from down south or even France £250 to £350.

Would we take £250k from celtic and a left back and a good young striker?

Remember McDonald is out there and Brophy has real potential so no I wouldn't

Ye but McDonald is not playing with his sister club! Would like another young 6ft + striker so we have a target man and Brophy to form a partner ship when we are clear of relegation as I think Mac will be off in the summer.
