Louis Longridge

I think Louis should be played more direct this season. Was played this way at Raith rovers and worked according to rovers fans on various groups and so far has 3 goals ( 2 closed doors and peach v Ayr) when pushed on in final 10. Louis could be our striker solution. discuss.

I've always thought his finishing and lack of composure in front of goal is the weakest part of his game but it was a sweet finish against Ayr and might be worth a go.

Do you mean playing in the #22 slot?

Worth a try, we don't have any one else, we may see him playing 10 today.

Not sure to be honest, an outstanding goal last week but that came after as ineffective a 91 minutes as the rest of his teammates and he was played almost upfront beside D'Acol. He scored a cracker last week but you just know if he was played in one on one with the keeper he would miss it.

Was astonished we gave him another contract, don't rate him at all.

3 or 4 striking opportunities in the box today resulted in no shots on target. Worked hard but he doesn't look like a striker.

bit of an enigma in a Joel Thomas sort of way.

Really want him to do well, but 99 times out of 100 he'll cock it up

Would a goal in an Accies shirt help him? Like others, I am underwhelmed by LL, other than by his pace. If he is to be played up-front, then he must take his chances rather than dither about, and either loose the ball or be bundled over.

Give him another chance at Meadowbank on Wednesday night. If he can't show something against a team come up from the LL, then the bench may be his best position.

Maybe, this is to be his season?

Should have been more specific  A goal in open play during the game when it matters, and not late into injury time in a game where it matters nota jot. His Ayr goal WAS a cracker, but how many times did he fluff it today when he had the chance of a shot and failed to take the opportunity? He had a great end to the season when we were in what is now the Championship, and we expected much from LL, but he has been a fringe player since.

As I said before, just maybe this is his time to shine, if he is being played as one of our strikers.

100% thought he should've been dropped. He's one of these 'potential' players that are never able to show any sort of form. He might try hard but as stated, he has very little composure and outwith his beautiful goal, pretty rotten finishing ratio. He's 25 and been with us 5 years, he's not getting any better, should have been dropped IMO.

Louis against League 1 opposition is about right, that's where he will excel. Louis against premier opposition, that's where we have seen him fold.

Looked a bit lightweight against Tavernier on saturday. Got bullied off it every time. I don't think the graveyard shift of left mdfield is to his liking.

His time at Raith has not improved him and he is another one given far too many opportunities. Occasionally he will pull something off, like his meaningless goal at Ayr, however if given time he will usually pick the wrong option or misplace a pass through lack of ability. A brainless player who is nothing more than a runner.

Perfect synopsis, DC Utd.

That's exactly how I view Louis.

I'm not 100% sure that he's an automatic starter but he's a player whose had a decent start to the season.
