Still Fighting - Who is up for the fight ?

Postby redandwhite1874 » Sat Apr 09, 2016 5:48 pm

Well a traumatic season (apart from Aug & Sep) has seen us reach the split in 10th position, 12 points from 12th and 4 points from 11th. I think most of us would have taken that at the start ?

Today saw a team fighting and playing with no little flair at times. We undoubtedly have issues with the club (illustrated in the last 24 hours), for the manager, and some questionable folk in the squad.

However, who of those inclined to say they are a fan but deliberately not going to games; are willing to act like a fan and support the players and fellow fans, whenever they can, as they try to see us stay in this division?

Who will set aside any issues they have (temporarily if they must) and just focus on supporting and following the team as they try to retain top flight status for only the FOURTH time in living memory

Get off your high horse. £22 when folk are scooting through with comps left, right and centre. Not going to be taken for a mug anymore. Delighted we won today but MC should still go and should have gone after Annan. McGowan's comments just put the cap on my disillusionment.

PMSL - the club want relegation and have not invested in the team. The slim chance of staying up might be a £££ bonus in their pocket next year. If we stay up expect more euro trash and no investment as they cream off the crowd money as we get pumped under their boy Martin!

Im glad you are up for the fight R&W and I hope Les n Co reward you as a real fan boy! Take it and say thank you.

As usual so many contradictions. The guy who predicted we would be relegated by Christmas, predicted it was inevitable, states the club want relegation but who ultimately is now considering survival; wants us to then take seriously his latest prediction that next season would be pointless. Your prediction about Hibs in the play off is looking dodgy as well -something like 4 points out of 21 in the championship for another team that is far from lacking in terms of spending.

A club like Dundee have invested massively (relatively) and have a great manager (according to you) and yet they are a massive 5 points above us. Us that have a crap manager and a squad lacking due to lack of spending. United and Killie have certainly 'invested' and yet we are sitting above both.

Anyway in conclusion thanks for clarifying that you are not interested in supporting the team in achieving a rare retention in the top flight.

PS I am more than happy, in fact delighted, to be described as both a 'fan' and a 'boy.

Just in case anyone thinks we are not fighting - Form over the last 6 games. Of our 5 opponents in recent fixtures we have won 3, drew 1 and lost 1. The fight will be because the fixtures against them the last time around were shocking and we had 4 defeats:

1 Motherwell 6 5 0 1 11 6 +5 15 83%
2 Celtic 6 4 2 0 8 3 +5 14 50%
3 Aberdeen 6 4 0 2 10 6 +4 12 83%
4 Hearts 6 4 0 2 7 7 0 12 50%
5 St Johnstone 6 2 1 3 6 7 -1 7 50%
6 Partick Thistle 6 2 1 3 5 6 -1 7 50%
7 Hamilton 6 2 1 3 5 8 -3 7 50%
8 Ross County 6 2 1 3 6 12 -6 7 50%
9 Dundee FC 6 1 3 2 8 7 +1 6 50%
10 Inverness 6 2 0 4 6 6 0 6 33%
11 Kilmarnock 6 1 1 4 4 6 -2 4 33%
12 Dundee Utd 6 1 1 4 4 8 -4 4 33%

When a so called fan who was planning to be unhappy even after a win today; is unhappy after a win today and who cannot accept facts that don't suit his twisted agenda; you know he's just another Well fan at the wind up - FTW

You would have had plenty of time for posting lots and lots of posts on here tonight if we had got beaten; with a new thread for each and every little nuance. Perhaps you would have found time to start another Twitter storm protest that would get zero re-tweets  Maybe if you realised there was more to the internet than dodgy sites and posting your angry man rubbish, you would realise that such form stats can be found in seconds.

I am not shocked that you choose to ignore facts that don't suit you; but your silence speaks volumes. Still you have a fortnight to wait before a potential defeat that you crave.

I can understand why your mum was explaining to me last night what a disappointment you are to her ;)

If we do stay up for only a fourth time since the 1930s then MC will be the only guy involved in all four achievements. Legend in the making :D ?

Match Killie for points over the first two games and I think we will be ok.......
Hopefully DUFC will lose to Hibs at the weekend and that finishes their season .....

Win the first two (which we can definitely do) and that's that. Our 2 biggest games since the play-off final. If Killie make up any ground on us in these first 2 games, then it's going to be very nervy considering our 2 easiest games are first. I still think we'll do it, though!

Playing Utd whilst they technically still have a chance is not the best ? on the other hand playin the poorest team first might be a bonus? That said, Utd killed us last November but we still won and if we carry that luck again it would be great.

Killie at home looks massive and it would be nice for all and any Accies minded folk to support the manager and players for that game. I get the feeling Utd and killie fans are up for supporting avoiding relegation more than our support is; and potentially their boards are taking them to the financial brink and their fans have more reason to boycott the club than ours?

So who is up for the fight now? For the chance to 1) - stay in the top flight; 2) - the chance to really grow a fan base on the back of affordable season tickets?

Does this change anyone's mind?
