Jamie Fairlie for me.If he didn't suffer that horrendous injury,he would have been better than James McCarthy.

Billy Reid and Jamie fairlie were in my original 22. Left with two keepers, four defenders, six midfield and three strikers.

Greatest and favourite could be mutually exclusive terms. Beastie and the Bee for me, but loved Wurzel, Brogie, McLaughlin and Jose in their times, in a completely heterosexual way obviously.

I had martin canning in there been a good servant to the club as a player at least, cerny, weir, Reid, fairlie, McPhee and Scotland were also in there.

Great thread!

So, so hard to choose. I grew up believing Jamie Fairlie was the greatest Accie ever. My favourite player was George McCluskey. But I think the choice has to be someone who played for us for a long time, and was consistently one of our best, at the highest possible level.

Fairlie still measures up well, but I'm going for Alex Neil.

McCarthy is the most talented player in his post-Accies career, but he was *just* a great prospect with us. Mark Fulton was a great player, but was only with us about a year. I loved Billy Reid as a player, but he wasn't even the best of the team he played in. We've had some great keepers, but none of them are the greatest Accie ever...

While Jose might not be the greatest Accie ever he remains one of my favourite and I'm glad to see him on the list. Strangely I look back on some of the "bad times" at Firhill and Cliftonhill with fondness and Jose is a huge reason for that, a player who always entertained, often did the unexpected and played with a huge smile on his face.

In terms of the greatest Accie there is no obvious winner - with neither McCarthy or Andreu for example hanging around for long enough to win that accolade - but I'd go for Alex Neil. A hugely talented player who I think many forget was often used as a winger when first signed but found his best position holding in midfield. A will to win like no other too.

A certain skilful midfielder from the 85/86 title side has been scandalously overlooked. Stuff yer poll.

Okay then, John Brogan.

Before my and many others time, but the likes of Neil Hood,Arthur McMillan and others from the great 1930's team like Bobby Reid should be on there.
