SAFEST MANAGERS JOB IN BRITISH FOOTBALL

Postby The Bajan Bandit » Sat Dec 26, 2015 7:16 pm

Hamilton Academical managers job , a job where you do not have to worry about results , do not have to get the best out of the players , do not have to have any awareness of tactics or how to change a game .

Just the ability to do nothing , keep your mouth closed and play the players you are told to play and the job is yours for as long as you want it .

But you missed out standing at the side of the park with your arms folded .....or even better just sit in the dugout !!!
A reaction at least would be nice

Where is the desire! The shouting! The anger! The tactics! I like Martin but starting with Longridge - where did that idea come from?

There are 5 teams within 3 points of each other. All spending more than us, some probably by a factor of 2 or 3; or more.

A lot of people were saying we would be detached at the bottom by now.

The two teams in the relegation places come May will have plenty money in the bank due to selling players for 7 figure sums and reinvesting buttons in the 1st team.

Please go now Martin before this gets nasty. Still time for someone else to turn things around.

Canning was shouting yesterday....defo.

You don't have to jump up and down like a loony to display passion, to impart your message across to the players and as I've previously mentioned if the players, when they get themselves into good positions, continually make dumb-ass decisions that isn't Canning's fault.

That said, the decisions that Martin makes re substitutions fail to make any sense, warping the formation and trying to put square pegs in round holes.

Long story short, his jacket is on a shaky peg but I would think he will not be sacked regardless of the outcome in the next few matches.

Fingers crossed for a positive result v ICT.....

Is it just seven wins, ten draws and twenty one defeats in the last thirty eight league games since Martin Canning was appointed on 9th January 2015? That would then be 31 points from a possible 114 points???

If so, not exactly impressive statistics to retain a job in football management these days :o

Simply not good enough to be honest.

What was Billy Reid's record in his last 12 months?

It's not a trick question just can't remember

Well after the statement today he is here for as long as wants to be , he does not need to concern himself with results only turn up and go through the motions every day and the board will continue to back him no matter what , the board were delighted when Neil left as they got to run the team again with there agent pal giving us all his dross on his books , coached by there pal who has not got a clue what he is doing .

Every game now i expect it to be shambles under Martin Annan, nothing has improved in a year .

We start games slow , even our warm up looks poor now compared to the high tempo stuff under Neil .

We concede after halt-time in a lot of games , what the hell is the team talk , can only imagine Martins saying with hands in pocket "eh , same again it is bound to happen for us at some stage" then couple minutes in we concede .

Baffling subs , main one being taking off Imrie at vital times , when he is more than capable of last 90 minutes .

Same spiel after games , used to be we were "unlucky" , now it is "i can turn it around" "got to improve"

What really should bring it home is when you listened to the radio scotland team last night saying it was the WORST EVER performance they had witnessed from a top flight side . Even Derek Ferguson who gives us so much positive air time was embarrassed by the performance , the team set up with no shape no tactics , there words .

Yet nothing will change , the man with the safest job in British football will just plod along with the same excuses in hand from one disaster to the next .

Long time season ticket holder who has had enough(rant over) .

Hey folks, please move all Canning discussion to the 'Canning Thread'. Just trying to keep the forum tidy and have the discussion all in one place. Thanks!
