Taking my 8 year old son to his first full Scotland international tomorrow.

A good performance from Gordon's boys tomorrow and good win against Gibraltar, will hopefully set us up for a successful end to these qualifiers.
I'm desperate to see Scotland back in a major finals again.
It's been way too long, for the best supporters in the world.

Hopefully a draw between ROI and Poland at the weekend. Definitely not a win for Poland.

Good luck. I used to go along to all Scotland home games for a few years when the wee guy was around the same age. I stopped going due to the 'characters' in the tartan army migrating away from the standing room only in the north stand, to the south stand where dads and boys are located to get a bit closer to the action than what you get in the family section behind the goals. They like to get a group together and 5 of the fannies in front of you and your wee boy isn't much of a night out.
They just don't know how to behave. My experience is that they are mostly from Banff or lochgelly or similar obscure locations, support much lower league teams, if at all, and come to the city for the big game thrill. They get guttered, stand up, shout and swear, try smoking discretely and react aggressively when challenged by other spectators who are tired of their behaviour. Stewarding can be a bit ineffective.
Between that and the hassle of getting parked around Hampden, I didn't think it worth the aggro.
Things may have changed, and I hope you have a good night - there probably won't be any of the above unpleasantness as the crowd will be no where near capacity.

2 Accies interests at the Scotland game tonight.

McGovern played the full game for N Ireland and had a pretty decent game with quite a few good saves.
He couldn't do much for the goal which was more down to poor N Irish defending and a good header from Berra.

McArthur played the majority of the game for Scotland.
He was good in the first half but very poor in the 2nd and got hooked.

Overall Scotland just about deserved the win, but made heavy going of it.
They need to be a lot more direct going forward.

The wee man enjoyed his first international and couldn't believe how big Hampden was.
Compared to NDP it must have looked huge.
Glad he seen Scotland win.

My prediction for Sunday, team wise is:

We need to be looking for at least a 4-0 victory.

It's refereshing to see someone pointing the finger at the abhorrent behaviour of some of the Tartan Army. Drunken, loutish, behaviour which also borders on out and out racism at times. Not dissimilar to any group of supporters, including Accies I suppose.
