Who would you like to see as Accies next Manager

Postby Accies4ever » Thu Mar 19, 2015 7:33 pm

Irrespective of what you think of the present Accies manager or no matter how long he has in that position, looking beyond him, who would you like as the next manager?

My choice is Ian Murray, presently with Dumbarton.

What's your choice?

Darren Lyon !

After 14 years playing in midfield for Accies he stepped up as MCs replacement.

You said it was irrespective of what you think of the present manager or how long he has ! just answering the question.

I would like MC to be highly successful before he is replaced............not sure everyone agrees.

I too would like that, but there's not much sign of that happening anytime soon.
Christ if Martin was in charge for 14 years, we'll be playing in the junior leagues.

:D Maybe

Or he could get us to the Champions League final only to be beaten at the last hurdle, and this site would still have threads about how we had failed ;)

So no matter how long Martin lasts you want Ian Murray. Lets say Martin lasts 3 years, in between which Murray has been possibly sacked from say Dumbarton and Albion Rovers (or any similar lower league team) you would still want him based on an opinion expressed 3 years ago?

We should have replaced the best young manager in Scotland with the 2nd best young manager in Stephen Aitken .

Jimmy calderwood. Proven track record as a short term fix, retaining canzo, if his ego can handle it, as an assistant, with a view to managing when ready. Caldo to move up to director of football, aka, puppet master, while canzo beds in. Board don't lose face, and the club moves on.

What Jimmy "taking a break, from taking a break" Calderwood?
It might just be crazy enough to work

Hopefully Canning will turn it around, starting tonight.
Two recent actions show he's trying to adapt to management, taking the players away to England to train and dropping himself to the bench.
However, tactically he's been inept and I wasn't impressed by his it's not my fault speech, although I could sympathise.
The jury is still out for me, but I'm doubtful he'll succeed.
Having appointed him the board should give him at least until the end of the season to impress or otherwise.

If he goes, I'd be happy with Ian Murray as Accies manager 2015/16 season.

I actually think Gus Macpherson is worth a go. when a he was given the Queens Park gig he was given the target of avoiding bottom spot and a play off against the Highland/Lowland League winner. instead he has Queens in second spot challenging for promotion. He has had to do that with a largely young amatuer squad. Saint mirren may have won the league cup since he left them but in terms of league performance they are going backwards fast. given the emphasis on youth he would be my choice to develop the kids while securing an Spfl place.

None of the above "usual suspects" would interest or inspire me. I don't think the BOD will consider changing this season. I was in favour of letting things run to the end of the season until I read the "it's nowt to do with me" quote.

I think that quote in the Sky interview is very damaging if accurate. We are always hearing how players should take responsibility on the park, therefore it's a given that the manager should accept responsibility for a series of poor results and performances.

I'm sure if we were 10 games unbeaten, he would be happy to take his share of the credit.

I do not like being overly critical of Accies staff, and try to be supportive, but my patience is wearing thin with Martin now.
