Young goalkeepers

The Academy has seemingly been working as a conveyor belt for talent for some years now. It's been very successful. Joshua Rae is obviously a rare young talent, now departed, but Scottish football has not seen a really good keeper for a long while now. I'm not just thinking about Hamilton specifically, but wonder whether there are other "Joshua Raes" in the pipeline across the country. Was he the exception, and has done so well based on natural ability that he was born with. I suppose the question is whether the goalkeeping coaches are able to spot and nurture youngsters, as it may be an issue for all clubs as well as the national side.

Having seen Joshua in action many times, I am happy to reveal we currently have an even better keeper playing for the under-15s.

That's good to hear JMc. There's been a shortage of good keepers for far too long in Scotland. Craig Gordon's career was obviously devastated by injury and prevented him from becoming the excellent role model for young lads tempted to pick up the gloves. Hopefully that will change for the next generation.

Agreed. Marshall was superb. He had a fantastic season. Surprised that none of the promoted clubs went for him.

Arsenal should've tried for Marshall as he, IMO, is better Sjechsney.......
