Lack of enthusiasm for Morton Game

Predictable line-ups and lacklustre performances seem to have ground us all down by end of October. Only seven months until the end of the season

I will be there but the Rankin effect is evident. Accies games have become a chore and the club as a whole are in a downward spiral. From top to bottom we are a shambles

Totally understand why so many are opting to do something else on a Saturday.

Bleak times and feels like it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

For me this is a must win game already and as usual, I will “await” the team line up before making a prediction.

I agree with the sentiment that this is already a must win game. If we lose with another poor performance, surely discussions then need to take place regarding Rankin's future, or at very least what the heck is happening in relation to the coaching of players and tactics.

Likewise, and the possibly un-curable disease of supporting Accies will have many of us there, but for how much longer, if there is not a major improvement very soon?

However, if I had been able to squeeze a three year contract out of a naive employer, I'd not ne jumping ship at any stage, providing the wages came in every week/month.

Came from Oli Shaw and a decent save from Albinson. Not much else in it.

Oli Shaw saves the day! Delighted for the guy as he puts in some shift chasing hoof balls on his own and for most of the season its been a thankless task. Massive three points and we need to kick on next week.

Let's not kid ourselves though, we were playing a weakend Morton side with a young replacement keeper not tested until the last quarter of the game. The starting line up was a joke and most of the game was brutal to watch. If Moffats one on one had gone in, it could have been the usual outcome and toxic atmosphere. Some will try and argue that Rankin changed the game with the subs. To an extent he did , but by taking two players off that should not have been near the pitch , players that most fans have been shouting should have been dropped for weeks.

Football is all about fine margins and hopefully this can be a turning point for us.

Great 3 points and a fantastic hat trick for shaw. I thought we dominated for the majority of the match but admittedly created very little. If Moffat scores we could quite have easily lost that game. A committed performance by all and we took the game to Morton when we could, but still lacking that cutting edge.

Tumilty, Williamson and Hendrie take a lot of flak but I thought they all did well. Williamson is one tackle away from a red card but credit where credit is due. I like Connor Smith but he was very poor today, although maybe he would be better up alongside ( or just off) Shaw instead of Ohara?

I thought Morton were pretty poor - how Broadfoot is playing at this level, I will never know. Still we didn’t put him under enough pressure.

I don’t know a lot about Mckinstry, but he looks like he will offer something a little different. Defence was good and a vital save by Albinson at a crucial time in the game.

Delighted to have won that game and I think we will be an up and down team this season but a bit more confident that we will be ok.

Oh, and if anyone at accies reads these posts, I try and get to as many games as I can. When it’s 20 quid I’m more likely to try and get there. Any more and it’s an excuse not to go.

Still far from convinced about Williamson. Think he adds very little to the team, other than a good head of hair. Think he'll miss the next game with a pulled/sore hamstring, which, IMO, is no bad thing.
WE had 70% possession in first half, probably 50/50 2nd and it looked like a 0-0 scoreline until we suddenly looked so much better after McKinstry came on.

When did we see the last Accies hat-trick at NDP? Great for Shaw to score,though.

Well it was better than last week (not saying much) first half but don’t think we had a shot on target.

Game changed in two moments. Albinison made a great save after Connor Smith had given the ball away cheaply and bringing on Bradley and McKinstry. Shaw got us two quick goals and confidence visibly flowed through the team before he added a beautifully taken third goal. We looked like the team we know we can be.

I’d have taken a draw and a decent performance before a ball was kicked so a three nil win is most welcome.

If we were to get three points next week away at Airdrie the table would suddenly looking a lot better than it was a few weeks ago.

Surely you mean, when O'Hara went off? God, he was particularly awful today. The guy deserves our thanks for last season but he needs dropped and put on the transfer list, if those things still exist. Williamson was average, which was a step up for him. Agree Smith was again disappointing but he put in a good shift and had the odd good moment. What can you say about Oli Shaw? Our fastest ever hat trick apparently. Huge, huge day with the bottom two losing. Disappointed to see only 654 home fans. Actually, it may have been 655 as my card wouldn't read but I was waved through!

And NO BOOKINGS today for any of our players!! When, if ever, was the last time we kept two clean sheets in the same game?

In our three wins, all have been at home, all have been with clean sheets and of the five goals, Shaw's last one was the only one from open play. Although I suppose the definition of open play is up for debate, for example, when the free kick is cleared and lands at Sean McGinty's feet, is that then open play?
