In's and Out's

Fulton away to Hearts?
Lewis away to Livingston?
Wild speculation in redtops about incomers?

Discuss?

Lewis could do better than Livi.

I think the level of signings will determine our ambition for the year. We have the basis of a strong championship side but lacking in key areas. Three or four quality signings could see us up challenging in the top half. If we fail to add quality, however, we could easily struggle badly.

It’s going to be a tough old season and we need reinforcements, especially with smith and Fulton away.

Rumours freed Ayr Keeper Charlie Albinson and Connor Smith are incoming.

We will find out soon enough.

Nothing confirmed yet but looks like a keeper as previously mentioned, the winger Bradley from Livi and centre mid Maguire from Motherwell. Happy with those if they happen?

Who is Bradley from Livingston? I can't think who you mean and I don't see his name on the Ins and Outs on Pie and Bovril.

From my Ayr supporting friend...

"If you asked me last season I would have said you have signed a top/mid Championship level goalkeeper. He was steady and seemed to do the basics well without any clangers. The past year he has had a complete nuke in confidence. Both Bullen and Brown lost faith in him as he started to cost us a goal a game under two different spells. It was really difficult to watch after he was so assured the season previous and I fully expected him to drop to part time football after that. I honestly don't know what version you will get but I wish him well."

Interesting. Hopefully a fresh start will see him regain his previous form. Bradley sounds an exciting prospect. We are probably challenging Dunfermline, Falkirk and Ayr for players with Raith, Livi and Partick Thistle all having the ability to outspend us.

I’d be a bit gutted with Hamilton leaving. I think it also speaks volumes that the likes of Smith and Hamilton are looking to play elsewhere.

Not that I'd be particularly fussed but I heard Tumilty was looking to move on. I think he shown up really poor defensively in the games against Falkirk, which will be the standard we will need to compete at most weeks next season. He's the ideal RWB if you play a 3-5-2 but isn't good enough in a back 4 imo.

Marley Redfern has joined Clyde. Looked a great prospect but struggled with injury. Hopefully he can kick on from there.

Bradley confirmed as signed. A bit like Lewis Smith but hopefully more consistent.

Is that three now confirmed? Albinson, Maguire and Bradley? I know Maguire has a two year deal, unsure of the others. Locked out of Twitter atm.

Can't see any mention of contract lengths but would expect all 3 to be 2 year deals as that seems to be the norm.

The reviews of our new centre half are, erm, interesting? The word liability seems to be a common theme. Tbh, he’s comfortably been a mid/lower champ level player so I’m sure he will be absolutely fine. We won’t have the budget to compete with the established league sides due to L1 prize money so next season a mid table finish will allow us to increase the budget the following season. Ayr signing McMann shows the levels between the two clubs in terms of budgets sadly.

I seen the latest training pics and Tumilty is still in the building. Do we have a confirmed retained list? I can't remember seeing anything.
