Looking to next year

Postby H9crx » Mon Mar 02, 2015 1:41 pm

This year is done and we need to start looking at next year. Players and Managment team.

Players I would Free
Dazz
John R
Lewis Longridge
Jasion Scotland
Dougie I
Martin Canning (as Player) dont think he has another year at this level
Nigel hasselbank (if he does not improve)

Players we may Lose
Ally crowford
Ziggy Gordon
Mc Gloves

Players I would Keep - Not including the U20 players

Ally Crowford
Ziggy G
McGloves
M Develin
Grant G
Lucas (If he shows he is capable )
Mcdondal
Tenna
Lynch (If he shows he is capable)
Sumsky (If he shows he is capable)

It does not give us much of a team and the board shoud know who they are keeping etc and should have got players into the team in Jan to start for next year.

Don't agree with Imrie or Canzo being axed.

I would however add Chucky to your list,
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

I know that Crawford and Gillespie have extended contracts but If we got an offer I'd bite their hands off, not cut out for this level.

Gills has been keen on a move for a while - he said so on TV when interviewed about his contract extension

Whatever happens until now and the end of season, come the close season we'll see a major turn-over of staff (incl players).

If I was the board however, the over-riding priority for me would be getting the management structure and personnel correct.
Then let the manager (whomever that may be) decide on what players are to go, which are to stay and what new players come in (obviously within existing budget limits).

The ethos of player development, especially young players stays in place.

I read today that Fraser Fyvie defied doctors orders to play on artificial surface. Apparently he was told that after knee injury playing on artificial surface could wreck his career.

Maybe that's a reason for us not showing an interest in him!
