Bino's Away Saturday 02 Sept.

Postby porcupine » Mon Aug 28, 2023 7:18 pm

Plenty of free parking at and around Forthbank Stadium. We should take a good support to Stirling on Saturday for what will also be our New Year Game on 06 January. Don't see Stirling Albion listed on Fanbase for on-line ticket purchase and the Official HAFC website is again running slow on up-to-date information.

Hopefully, we'll have Ryan One in Saturday's squad, then he's off to Belgium with Scotland under 19's, (Congratulations BTW!) so looks like he'll miss the Accies trip to Coleraine for the Challenge Cup-Tie on 09 September.

Defence not conceded any goals, Midfield looks strong, Forwards just need to take their chances quicker.

Predictions, then, for Saturday??

Just looking for our team to continue to build their confidence, understanding and momentum with another win!
Team selection will likely be similar with only a swap out for Winter wound be my guess.

We are creating the chances every week which is great, and just need a little more belief to take some more of them.
Stirling have had a lot of praise up until the Falkirk defeat, but seem to be having a number of injuries in defence, which may be difficult to plug.

I think we will get another shut out and will win 0-2.

With them having injuries in defence and one goal from open play apparently in the League,we should be looking to turn the screw early doors.

I said pre season we still need another striker and nothing has changed as with a real poacher,we would have been running up Airdrie like scores from last season.

As to the above, I'd be starting Ryan One to bang in a few goals early on and frighten their defence from the start of the game. He looks to be getting better and better, and we might loose him at the January window to an English outfit. Have him scoring for us now, as the still needed poacher/striker.

Remember the damage Joe Nouble did to all the Championship teams in his six month spell at Arbroath. Had he not been recalled by Livvy in January, I believe they would have been promoted to the big boys.

One signed for Sheffield United late last night.
What happened to developing and playing young players, they’re sold before they are established in the first team.
It’s not just us though, it seems to be the new way of doing things!

Once again Accies reverting to type. 0-2 up Lose a goal before half time and then another near the end of the game

Plenty of shot for us in the game, 17 according to BBC, but until we get a striker in, think its gonna be another sqeaky bum time for auto promotion.

Only good news, QOS and Cove both lost

Only one man to blame for us not winning that, Kevin O'Hara.

Missed loads of chances, hit the woodwork 3 times. They went up the park twice,We need a keeper badly.and we need to finish teams off ,when on top.

Hard to drop Smith when he hadn't conceded a goal but would expect Fulton between the sticks next week. O'Hara isn't a natural centre forward. Hopefully McGlynn is and OHara can play wide or 10.

If you're even slightly blaming Jamie Smith tonight, you're an idiot.

Spot on SC, first of their goals came from a ball which should have been challenged even to concede a corner from that. Second was a defensive back l8ne mistake and neither any blame on the keeper.

What we needed, and don’t now have, is a natural striker with Ryan One gone. Our No.9 is not the answer at present. Devoid of confidence in his finishing.

BBC suggested Scott Martin took the spot kick but I saw it as Kevin Ohara. He is way off the role as a natural striker for any team just now. Personally I would have ensured that Scott Martin DOES take any future pens, as he can strike the ball with power and accuracy. We lost two points today by that poor penalty kick decision.

It’s Accies. Onwards and upwards. But Cliftonville next week???? That’s a banana skin, surely?

Coleraine next week, not Cliftonville. Definitely not in Belfast!

O'Hara took the penalty. If he'd hammered it and the keeper saved you'd say great save. It was such a weak effort the keeper held it! He had a bad early miss, put through a great ball a minute later for Henderson, who went a bit wide a hit the post. Some of KOH' s play outside the box was very good and he at least broke his league duck ( he couldn't very well miss) but that miss and another late one before the penalty and his general inability to get himself in the six yard box to meet great deliveries is what cost us the win.

The team were excellent in that first half and should have been 3 or 4 up by half time. A sublime ball by Tumilty for the first. Barjonas was good but he looked done by the hour yet stayed on for another fifteen minutes or so. That's on Rankin, we were as good as a man down. Best were Scott Martin, he was everywhere as usual, Henderson and O'Brien while Lewis was excellent when he came on and has to start v Alloa. Don't care about Saturday, play Hewitt and McGlynn, who was lively when he came on.

We are playing some good stuff.
We pass the ball well.
We look as if we know what we’re doing.
The difference is Tait. For the first time since, Alex Neil, we have someone in the midfield who slips deep into the back 4 and builds from there. Ok we were beginning to struggle before he came off, but we fell apart thereafter. It was wrong to take him off - no one does what he does. A bit concerning. The back 4 were less sure what do do with the ball when he went off too - started to humf it up the park.
We began to struggle because we struggled physically - every game now, Tumilty is knackered after 60 mins. Same with Bonjoras. They don’t look as if they’ve any stamina. Or we could be asking them to do too much within our 433?
We’ve sold One a season too early. For us and for him? Did I not read that Sheffield had bought him for their Development Squad. Perhaps, we should have given him more game time. Perhaps, we should have given the other youngsters that have left more opportunities. We were rotten last year - if not going to do it then, when do you?

No blame on Smith but Fulton is the first choice keeper and would expect him in the team next week.

Highlights show Smith to be blameless but if Rankin thinks Fulton is the better keeper and puts him back in that's understandable.

Their video shows how good our passing was and how many chances we missed too in the first half.
Falkirk will the the next big test, of course. Agree with assessment of Dylan Tait, as posted above. Missed him after substitution took place.

We are one of the few teams in this league tht are full time. How can these guys not be fit enough to last a full 90 minutes. Is it poor fitness regime
