So next in Stephen Hendrie. Can't say I'm excited. We did well with hindsight to get the rumoured 400k for him from West Ham. Since then he wandered from club to club without really making a mark. But welcome back Stephen.

Stephen Hendrie next up...Good option for cover in defence and adds to the attacking mindset throughout the team, definitely a good option to have.

On another point i see Mr Strain is ensuring he is front and centre of everything to feed his egotistical nature. Club quietly putting him into a football director position after the absolute shitshow we went through from himself and his lies last year is putting a bad taste into this feel good factor we should have just now.

If he expects any fan to have any credability for him after his lies, burner phone threats, fake forensic and police investigations, cease and desists...the list goes on. An open forum is needed and he needs to hold himself accountable and admit for all of the above and more.

As far as I'm aware, the only player we've been linked with that we haven't signed is Louis Longridge. Maybe he'll be number eight.

There was a squad update on the QP website back in May saying Longridge had been offered new terms and his picture is still showing in their squad list so who knows?

Lee Kilday missing. Is Ben Black a midfielder, he scored some amount of goals for the U18s though many were penalties? If he's included maybe Liam Morgan and the boy Meechan (Paddy?) should also be included.

I've added Lee Kilday, thanks for pointing that out. I'm not sure about the others.

Ben Black played up front for the Under 18's and ended up second fiddle to Liam Morgan(as did Ryan One).

Big Paddy Meechan played midfield any game I watched,so he maybe be back up as midfield this season.

Latest from Rankin re signings. Connor Smith unlikely to return and not going to rely on loan market.

There's no prospect of Louis Longridge returning; he's just signed on for another season with Queen's Park.

Following a hangman type clue on Accies Twitter, it seems our next signing will be teenage Burnley striker Joe McGlynn. Probably a loan.

And u were correct Stevie, Joe McGlynn having been released by Burnley signs for us. This falls into the Mathew Shiels type signing. Let go by a bigger club but we will take a punt on him. Wait and see and hope the lad comes good.

Don’t want to rain on the parade, and very pleasantly surprised by the apparent quality of the signings and length of contracts given, but am I the only one who is slightly nervous that the club can sustain this given that a year ago we couldn’t afford Taylor’s wages.
Credit where it’s due to the new incumbents, but football is littered with ambitious new owners whose early enthusiasm has waned after an initial spending spree.
Pat Nevins new book outlines Motherwell as a case in point when John Boyle took over.
I am not intending to be critical of what is currently playing out, it’s just a note of caution

Don’t disagree Slippy but remember 17 have left the club so in terms of player budget I’m not sure where we are. Also remember that we sold a couple of the young boys so perhaps that money has not gone to Mcgoofey but into the playing budget. More to the point do you know something re the ownership we don’t because it’s all gone very quiet re the change since Mcgoofeys farewell. Nothing from either party.
