A better left back than we had last season. Encouraging.

Spence and Mimnaugh both away. Given Spence was out for virtually the whole of the season past whatever u thought of him we won’t miss him. I’m not bothered re Mimnaugh. Plenty of opportunity to Cement a regular first team spot never really happened.

As per TT's point above i would like to know what the GK situation is. What is the latest on Ryan?

Kyle Macdonald signed, a 23 year old right back who played 26 times for Dunfermline in their title winning season. Why he's leaving them is anyone's guess. Maybe not deemed good enough for the step up. If he's good enough for L1 then that's all we need to know. Now for a couple of strikers!

So far so good. Exactly the type of signings we have been crying out for for years. Players that know Scottish football and have a bit of experience instead of punts from non league in England or loans of kids from the English game.

All positive signings on paper for league one and I’d had probably been happy with them if we’d survived in the championship.

Happy with the business so far:couple of midfielders and two decent strikers and we are sorted.

Well done to Accies, getting in early and getting business done, which makes a change.

On paper most of the signings look good enough for this league and at least all of them have experience, unlike the usual waifs and strays we sign

Yep, been critical of the clubs failure to prepare in the past but really pleased with the level of activity so far. As others have said, the type of signings look good for this level too. Win, loose or draw if the club are working hard to improve the football side of things, then the fans will get behind them. Keep it up accies please!

In previous years, we normally waited until virtually the start of the season before making signings. This meant that the new players weren't always ready but then again the club didn't need to pay them wages over the summer. It's good to get away from the days of signing unknown guys from the English non league scene; some worked but most didn't.
Things are getting brighter and I'm looking forward to seeing the team despite the awful end to last season.

Good to see this confirmed on official site. Can we actually start looking forward to this season?

Exactly this. For the past god knows how long we have waited untill the very last minute needed to be prepared meaning we no doubt lost out on plenty and had to settle for bogstandard - i am pretty much 95% certain this was due to Mcgowan being in charge of the finances / budgets and being unwilling to pay people outwith the league season that he didnt need to. Looks like we are rebuilding a decent core and standard of team which was most definitely needed. Dont want to get ahead of myself after the shitshows what weve had to endure of recent but Lets keep this going and maybe we might actually be able to enjoy ourselves for once :D

I’m surprised to see Easton going. Not from a playing point of view but I assumedthey would have found a coaching role for him. Maybe it’s a sign of a new ruthless approach to our team building. Thanks for the memories Brian.

And Mimnaugh has signed for Queen of the South. I assume offering more money than us or maybe he realises that a change sometimes kicks you out of a rut and might just aide your development.

18 year old defender Chrissy McGinn has extended his contract with us. Capped by Scotland at u16,17,18, Chrissy already has 21 first team appearances . And of course is eligible for our u19 UEFA Youth League games in the autumn

Jamie Barjonas from Kelty. Don't know much about him but we do need midfielders.

Product of Rangers Youth Academy but been a regular with Kelty for last two seasons.

Proven midfielder at Div1 level. I’m happy with that.

Before the first league game last season we had signed just two new players - Michael Doyle and Johnny Ngandu. What a difference. I think I'll buy a season ticket now.
