Congratulations to Bonnyrigg Rose who clinched promotion to SPFL League 2 today with a 4 -0 aggregate score over Cowdenbeath consigning them to the Lowland League. It means however that our red and white hoops are no longer unique in Scottish senior football. Que sera at least we can claim we had them first as Rose were founded nearly 10 years after us :D

Might sound churlish but I'm not sad that the Blue Brazil have gone to the Lowland Leagues. I saw them get quite an undeserved win against Cove 2/3 years back, where the refereeing decisions were severely in favour of Cowden, and where Cove had played then off the park at Central Park.
Can't see them coming back, much like Brechin or East Stirlingshire.

Cowden's park was always a stock-car stadium with a shocking terracing full of bits of broken concrete. Does anyone remember teh bigh punch up between Coden & Accies fans in the car park after one game??

Welcome to the Rose, even with matching hoops! Another possible banana skin for the Scottish Cup, even with a new ground to visit??

Technically we wear horizontal stripes, we haven't worn proper hoops since about 2006. I noticed the Rose wore an all red strip last week so maybe they don't always wear red and white hoops, a bit like Doncaster. Is it too much to ask that we'll have proper hoops next season? Probably.

A drawing of every strip worn since 1874 can be found here.
