Annual accounts time

Postby TerracingTomas » Sun Apr 17, 2022 11:41 am

It’s that time of year when company accounts start appearing

The accounts for financial year 20/21 for Edencrest, the ultimate holding company, Deeka and the stadium company can be found via these links. The football clubs accounts don’t usually appear until May and likewise they will be for 20/21

I doubt you will learn much. It’s the barest of information and so much money flows through the Community Trust (probably including Nero Vodka’s drug money. Oh that’s right that deal collapsed but. Mcgoofey left the advertising up for 3 years  )

It's been said on here many times,TT, that these annual accounts, of what are basically 'shell' companies, look to be set up for advantageous tax reasons by their shareholders, give no information on the actual Football Club, and how it manages its Income & Expenditure.

Only thing of note is that only Les Gray is now shown as Director in Edencrest along with C McG, who is shown as sole Director in the two other Companies. Colin seems to be in total control, with a solicitor at Friels Uddingston as Secretary for all three companies noted above.

Accounts for Hamilton Academical Football Club Ltd are not due until May 2022 & those are historical, being for year end June 2021. The Directors shown on the 2020 accounts are still shown as Active on Companies House records, other than Ronnie McD who resigned in February 2022. Interestingly, John Brown is shown as Chief Executive of the Football Club. And here was me thinking that C McG was known as the Chief Executive of Accies!!! How wrong was I??

I wouldn’t read too much into that Porcupine. I took it to mean John Brown was Chief Executive as well as being a director of his own company Life Skills which he sold on his retiral. I did notice that Friels are now company secretaries to a number of the associated companies and that as you say is a sign of Mcgowan tightening his grip.

Good point re JB’s existing role. Should have thought of that!

Being one of the 300 or so during the dark years of Watsonianism, enduring homeless treks to Firhell and Cliftonhell to support the team, I fear that I’m entering another dark tunnel. Aagghh!

Link to the clubs latest annual accounts here. Minimal information and I’m at the couldn’t care less stage. As long as Mcgoofey gets his greedy little cut nothing much else matters. No manager, no signings, and no understanding by the fans
