Where will we finish this season

First game against Raith this weekend, our first in Championship for a good few years.

So who is going to call it early as to where we will finish.

With Rice still in charge, still talking the same shite, and signings few and far between, we look much weaker than last season. Would be surprised if Odoffin sticks around and the new keeper does not inspire confidence. We have a team of lightweight lads in most positions, who may play pretty footbal, but with no one to stick ball in back of net, we are going to struggle big time

My call is we will finish 8th just avoiding the play off spot for relegation. Crowds will also be down to around 800

Oooh and Rice will still be there at end of season, still talking shite

Dunfermline, ICT, Killy,Patrick and Riath will finish above us.
Ayr might join that six.
Suspect we will be battling the relegation /play-off places with Morton Arbroath and QotS.

With a year's rolling contract till end April 2022, why would BR not be there. IT snot a son if he will be headhunter by anyone else. Where did out last Premiership Manager go? Have hear nothing about MC since he departed.

Don't think we have the resources for attraction real experienced goal scoring talent, unless it's someone at the end of his career looking for another year's income.

Seaside League One could ben new horizons for many of our younger fans, VERY soon, even with the best efforts of a group of keen but inexperienced boys this season. Prove me wrong!!

So many unknowns at the moment. The window doesn’t close until the end of August so plenty of time yet to lose Odoffin, Mcmann and Hamilton. Equally are we going to see any decent signings coming in. As things stand we essentially have a B team playing in the Championship. I’m of the opinion that Ronnie and co are happy with that. Realistically I don’t think they will be bothered where we finish provided we are not relegated as they see it as taking upto 3 seasons to develop these boys into a promotion team. And as long as Rice keeps faith with their youth development vision then his job is safe as houses. I’ll sit on the fence and say 5th. And as for crowds your figure of 800 sounds realistic. Indeed if we do end up battling at the wrong end of the table you could be lower than that.

With the squad as it is I agree with Porcupine in we will be fighting in relegation play offs. We need a right back, midfielder and 2 strikers asap.
If we dont get them and lose McMann, Hamilton and Odoffin I think we will finish bottom.

Queen of the South seem to have a lot of good youngsters, including one we let go. They beat Airdrie 4-0 on Saturday. Let's be honest, we'd have lost to Airdrie if we could only draw with Rovers. As it stands right now, we're finishing bottom. We won't have the savvy that Arbroath have, far better manager too. If Ronnie and co think we can coast through the season, picking up valuable experience for the youngsters and then kick on after that, I think they're in for a shock.

Ladbroke have us 2nd favourite behind killie HA

We could very very easily slip out the championship with the squad we have , I think it’ll be between us and the only part time team in the league Arbroath.

1st 5 games will give us an indication after we play Arbroath away. We should be realistically looking at 11 points from these games. Draw v raith and killie and wins v Morton qos and Arbroath but…….

Concur with most of that, SC, especially Wiley Dick Campbell at Arbroath. Not sure we will finish bottom though, but won't be surprised if we're in the bottom two, without significant experienced reinforcement.

As TT says, a couple of signings could make a real difference, as well as loosing experienced existing players for cash sales.
Usual Accies Lottery for another uncertain season.

We certainly won’t be challenging but will probably make the play offs… for League 1
There’s no way the current squad is ready and if we lose a few we’ll really struggle.
I’ve bought my season ticket to support the Club, but not sure how many games I’ll attend.

Copy and pasted from 1st post on this subject.
I agree 8th is best that we can achieve with this manager, terrible squad & uninterested board. Regarding crowds, we have been at least 300 below that figure for about 4 years now. ST sales so far are under 150. I would guess our average home crowd will be circa 3 - 400 rising to 5 - 600 for bigger games, that is the level we are at & without a competitive team on the park for the 6th season running that will not improve.

Daily Record has us losing Odoffin to Rotherham, one of our best and most experienced players. Should we lose McMann and Hamilton as well, we are doing a double relegation

Talk in papers advise we will invest some of transfer fee in new players. Last minute.com once again with Accies. Most sides have made signings and I would imagine these guys will have settled in with their new clubs

Montrose Week - spot on about crowds. Did you see the interview ASA put up with Maitland? He gave the Season Ticket figure from 19/20. We only had 549 holders. The breakdown was 226 adults, 188 U16s & 135 concessions. 43 were also given away free, presumably to players and sponsors.

Not a great figure when Falkirk have sold 2000 this season after finishing fifth in the third tier and I believe Killie are on about 3,500.

The BBC’s assessment of Accies for the season ahead.

Last season Hamilton were relegated to the second tier for the first time in seven years after many a campaign defying the odds.

Can Brian Rice’s men bounce back? With Kilmarnock in the same division, they will have to punch above their weight again.

But with the likes of young Jamie Hamilton, Kyle Munro and Lewis Smith at his disposal, Rice will back his side to make a promotion push.

Well at least we don’t appear to be relegation favourites but nice to know we are still punching above our weight again

11 points was optimistic, 7-8 was realistic but 4 tells us where exactly we are these days, we’re in trouble at a very early stage in the season as no one else is coming in to boost that squad let alone the first 11.
