3 best runners up shoot out

Postby Big Wurzil » Sat Jul 24, 2021 7:38 am

Forfar 8, away to Dundee
Dunfermline 6, home to stenny
Kelty 6, away to Arbroath
Airdrie 6, away to QoS
Cowdenbeath 6, away to livi
Accies 6, home to the wee rovers
Ek 6, already out
Stirling 5, home to Peterhead

Dunfermline will get 1 of the places. Forfar could scrape a draw and they should get through due to their GD of +4

No way is 2 out of Forfar, kelty, airdrie, cowdenbeath winning away to teams in at least a league above them, one might but can’t see 2 so a 1-0 defeat of the wee rovers will see us through. Simple enough ?

Good Logic, BW, but when did Accies ever do anything logical?

Seem to remember meeting the same team in the same competition some seasons ago at Cliftonhill, when Shaun Want scored two goals but we still lost the game. Was is 2-4 or 2-5

Another embarrasing exit with us being the 'bigger' team.

Have no expectations of any next round here but, hey-ho, it's a live game with spectators. Maybe the significant Accies crowd will lift the young boys today for a convincing victory.

It was a 4-4 draw and Rovers got the extra point in the shoot out. We had a very young side.

Unfortunately it's not as simple!

Kelty Hearts and Arbroath are both on 6 points and are playing each other. If either win they'll be on 9 points

Airdrie and Motherwell are both on 6 points and motherwell are playing Annan. Likely to finish on 9 points.

With Dunfermline likely to be on 9, that's at least 4 of us.

All down to goal difference!
