Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle for the £50m transfer of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White.

Brighton maybe use some of the spare change to snaffle Jamie Hamilton?

More than a fortnight since we signed Spence and despite Rice’s assertion re incomings no sign. So is it a question that there is no more money in the budget unless we sell a player (in which case are we waiting on Odoffin agreeing terms). Or is it the case that we continue to offer poor terms even in the Championship and players won’t sign?

Update

From an Evening Times interview today:-

“We've tried to bring two or three in this week already, and we've not been successful because they've chosen either not to come or to go elsewhere, but there are still three or four that we're talking to, and hopefully we can get one or two in by the weekend.“

So that will be a no then.

Odoffin to have his Rotherham medical tomorrow according to this report. It’s turning into a long running saga. Presumably until it’s signed deal Accies won’t spend any of the fee (if they do) on strengthening the squad?

Rice in his post match interview on Only Accies says the club are “definitely” bringing in a midfielder. Fingers crossed it happens this week and it’s a bit of quality. A right back would be good Brian Just saying!

IMO, I think McCarthy's "done". Both Accies and Wigan had the best of him, and he failed to live up to expectations at Everton & Palace. Too may rash challenges when I've seen him on TV, but maybe the leg-break meant he lost confidence in his own ability.

Such as shame, as when we had him, it looked as if he would go on to achieve great things in the game.

It could be a dream signing for Celtic, of course, or just another expensive mistake. For James, however, a four year contract, at presumably good money, is an excellent piece of business for when he hangs up his boots.

And we can now officially say Odoffin is a Rotherham player.

The lad did well for us also managed 42 games for us, unlike half the squad who seem to be permanently injured

As most of it is the usual repetition the only concrete bit of info is that we are trying to bring in Miko Virtanen a midfielder from Aberdeen. Been there from 2017 but only played a handful of games. I had hoped for more experience. Morton and Ayr apparently interested.

As with all things Accies, we are short of players, so do we try to bring in more players. Of course not we get rid of some. Looks like Calum Smith is going

Airdirie are set to sign Callum Smith from Hamilton.

The striker is set to return to the Diamonds after he had a successful loan spell there last year.

The 21-year-old is set to quit Accies to get more regular first-team football with their Lanarkshire rivals.

Smith played in the Premiership last season but is now looking to relaunch his career in League One.

Accies signed him from Dunfermline last summer, where he had loan spells at Arbroath, Alloa and at Airdrie.

Ian Murray of Airdrie saying here that somebody has jumped the gun. Smith is someone we are interested in but he’s still a Hamilton player.

Looks a promising player, U21 international, young player of the year at Arbroath, ambitions to improve as a player and sees Accies as an opportunity to do so.
Hopefully it works out for him/us.

Yet another shit show from Accies. Club is run by a bunch of incompetents, which is maybe why the team are such a shambles, with low crowds. Absolute amateurish

No way Smith would be leaving unless we have someone lined up.A few sources on Twitter who are normally 90% correct are saying we have a striker on trial who has played at a good level.

I know ex Livvy Dolly Menga was training with us and rumours of a move for ex St.Johnstone striker Guy Melamed although I would be surprised if we got him as the likes of Dundee United are interested also.

Josh Mullen signed on loan from Livingston.
