That was the transfer window that was

Well no signings to be expected last minute according to this Record story. Not a surpise really. From memory, this window supposedly we had two english league targets lined up at the beginning of the window but both declined because of Coved (Aye right) and we offered Oakley and Wrighton contracts but both have gone elsewhere presumably because more money was on offer or in Wrightons case a contract for next season with Dunfermline.

Realistically the kitty was bare unless directors were willing to put hands in pockets and it doesnt look like it. An Accies poster used a phrase on Pie and Bovril that struck a cord with me in that the Directors are in 'managing the decline' mode presumably to engineer a soft landing back in the Championship. If they manage the decline like they manage the bank account, the online shop, the north stand lease, the community trust, fan relationships and of course signings it wil be some decline  .

Between a hapless manager and a poor squad weakened further by injuries its the championship next season.

Well what do I know. Good old Accies say one thing in the press do another. Anyway one striker in and the hint of another development this morning. Plus 2 out so cost neutral. The boy from Aberdeen looks OK Certainly no worse than what we've got. Still think we need creativity in the midfield to create chances for our strikers so maybe there is still something to come.

Will Collar Released. He was just starting to come onto a game when he picked up his injury. So 3 out 1 in. Wage bill reduced and a sop to the fans with a loan striker. Perhaps a midfielder out of contract to come?
