Gerard’s Giants v Rices swimmers

Well even without the latest injury additions, Trafford broken ankle, Hamilton shin splints, and Hughes whatever, this was all about keeping our goal difference respectable. Can’t see a path to any kind of result for Hamilton. I’ll follow via the radio for this one and keep my tv money for another occasion. Rice says he has asked the board about recruits but suggests it’s probably January before we see any fresh signings.

Attracting players must be difficult at the best of times. The carrot we can dangle is playing in front of big crowds against the Ugly Sisters but we can no longer do that and who knows when that will change. To be honest, far bigger things to worry about right now. Still having a club in a couple of years will be a victory in itself.

The only slight thing in our favour is the bigot brothers will hopefully had a hard game against Benfica. Even then they have a decent squad so will no doubt rest a few.

The way we have been conceding goals is a major concern and I dont see that changing anytime soon. 4-0

Game will probably be in Hesgoals.com as is usually the case.

I don't get this small squad stuff Rice always says:

G: Fulton,Gourlay, Scully

D: Hodson,McMann,Want,Odoffin,Stanger,Easton,Hamilton,Stirling

M: Munro,L.Smith,C.Smith,Johnson
Martin, Callachan, Collar
Trafford, Mimmnaugh, Hughes

S:Winter,Templeton,Moyo,Ogympoe,Tunde

Even with the injuries, there are still plenty bodies there to get a stuffy, organised and hard to beat team on the pitch whilst playing players in their correct positions.

Perhaps the problem has always been Quantity over Quality.

Well 2 new signings so far ahead of tomorrows game. Aaron Martin(31) defender from Exeter and Nathan Thomas (26) midfield/winger last with Sheffield United. At least the board recognised that they had to do something to strengthen the squad and either there was some money there or a director has put his hand in his pocket. Possibly a third? Both these signings are available for tomorrow but whether they are anyway match fit is open to question.

Worst equal goal's lost in the league so anything positive to plus holes in what has been obvious for some time. We need a steady central defender who can organise others about him.

Anyone know what Chris Swailes is doing these days? :D

My contacts in Carlisle including a Director and an ex Accies player say that Nathan Thomas should be a good signing and is a scorer of spectacular goals.

Problem being of course is that by the time these new guys are fully fit,we could be cut adrift.

All very good, YOT, but surely, we HAVE to get a watertight defence in place ASAP, cos IMO that's where our current problems lie.

Today will be interesting, though, at Ibrox. The lack of their crowd should be an advantage to us.

4 - 5 - 1 today Brian.

We already know before kick-off that Rangers encourage their full backs to play in the attacking third of the pitch, so we need to capitalize this space when we have possession.

Furthermore, is it too much to hope for HELLander to have another mare, like he did on Thursday, in Europe?

The management have had nearly three weeks to prepare for this match, so no excuses...we won last year when we needed a result, in a full Ibrox stadium...so lets do it again, and, take advantage of any self-inflicted pressure the Rangers players will be feeling as they are EXPECTED to win today, even more so if Celtic don't get a positive result at Fir Park today.

Easton back and starts as captain. Both the new boys are on the bench and so is Lewis Smith. Where’s Want? Is he self isolating or injured or just dropped?

Stranraer will fancy their chances even more now. And, in all honesty, i’d be surprised if we actually beat them.

I can’t see us winning any games for the rest if the season unless we play the Fairhill under 7’s girls netball team. And even then it’ll be a close call...

Rice out.

My earlier post was wrong about the missing crowd. Not much else though. Like others, can't see where sufficient points are going to come from for many months, if any.

Why delay the agony any longer. Just go now Brian and take a little respect with you, instead of becoming a laughing stock.

Getting beat against Rangers, I can live with that. What I cant take though is the complete lack of fight from the team. No shots on target, only 23% possession, no corners. Most Accies teams in the past have at least tried and have managed in the main to keep scoreline down.

I get that we have a young team, but there was still enough experience in team to no have capitulated like we did today.

Almost 2 years in charge. Has he improved the team, absolutley not. All we ever hear is excuse after excuse and nothing to give us any real hope. The only thing keeping him there now is the lack of cash to pay him off
