The third trialist now signed Justin Johnson a winger from some Cypriot side.

Surely Mr Rice can see that we need to sign at least 1 centre back and hopefully a few more defenders, a blind man can see that. We seem to be fairly well covered up front and even midfield is fairly well covered. Are things happening behind the scenes or are we just gonna try and wing it through the season, with the young boys.

Its great to see youth getting their chance but surely we need to couple of older heads to help the young boys through the game

We need a keeper and an experienced central defender.

Well we signed an experienced defender just not a central one. Gives us competition at right back and he has a reasonable pedigree. Lee Hudson on loan from Gillingham until season end.

Still need a centre back though and a goalie though.

Lee Hodson, ex Rangers and St Mirren. Good signing but slightly puzzling. He'll be expecting to play but Oddofin has looked decent and McMann is vastly improved and is now captain. I think we need two experienced centre backs and a better keeper. Gary Woods rarely let us down and he was out of favour at Oldham, could he be tempted back?

Do you think BR plans to play Hodson in the Gogic role, protecting the back four?

For me,the midfield is the weak point of the team:they aren't creating enough chances and are offering no protection to a fragile defence/dodgy Keeper.

A creative midfielder and a clone of Gogic for defensive midfield would solve plenty of our current problems.

Other areas are weak of course, but for me our midfield is the worst in the League by a country mile.Last season we had Martin,Gogic and Collar which while lacking in creativity provided battling qualities and protected the defence.

Another example of the clubs’ wacky decision making. Last season we extended Ross Cunningham’s contract to the end of 2022. Probably cos he converted penalties. This season he’s released 5 games in. Maybe he asked to be released cos he wasn’t going to get a game but who makes these decisions to hand out contract extensions? Brian, Ronnie, Maitland? Whatever I suppose it frees up a wage which might go towards that creative midfielder.

So Fjortoft is off to Morton. A fine example of Accies often scattergun approach to signings.

I don’t expect the wage savings along with other recent departures to go into the first team squad judging by Rice's comments in another interview in which he says essentially the academy budget wont be touched going forward more likely to see the senior squad budget affected. (Sorry cant find the link)

Got to question who is scouting these players in the first place.

The guy from Fc Utd is another who will be gone with hardly an appearance.

Well it appears we have spent some of our saved wages on a signing. Ben Stirling 22, a defender and product of Hibs youth system. Never actually made a first team appearance for Hibs but loaned out several times to lower league teams.

Who knows? Rather have had A creative midfielder.
