Worst Transfer Window for Accies

Postby Accies4ever » Mon Feb 02, 2015 9:43 pm

Could this turn out to be the worst transfer window for Accies.

Neil...gone
Andreu....gone
Hendrie.....going.
Crawford...?

Who's next?

In the meantime, we seem reluctant to spend any money to strengthen.
All I can say is the dome better be worth it!

The club can confirm that a bid has been received for Tony Andreu from Norwich City. After discussions with the player and Norwich in respect of their offer, and in line with our ethos of development, the bid has been accepted subject to medical.

My question to you is "ethos of development", is it just another codename for taking up the rear

Where's the ambition in Accies.
It's not a game of FIFA 15, where you try to get as much money for offloading players.

Let's see what the club does between now and 11pm. That will determine if we do have any ambition.
Not hopeful!

Can't blame Tony, why wouldn't he move for that kind of money, but we still had a season and a half left on his contract.
Who's next? Crawford, Ziggy.
Roll up, roll up...everything must go!

The way we handle players is a key part of our strategy, a strategy that has been wildly successful. The club will re-invest the money and we need to trust them and not add panic to disappointment.

By all accounts, we've not seen the end of the departures tonight.

What will Accies response be......get in some hasbeens that no-one else wants.
Brilliant.

In Les and Ronnie we trust!

Usually the club do their business in the summer window.

It is extremely disappointing to see the manager and top players leave the club when the club are in their best position for 80 years.

Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself and say "no" and make it clear that the summer window is when bids etc will be accepted.

But we're not.
That's the point I'm making about ambition.

We've taken the 30 pieces of silver and are putting our top 6 position is serious jeopardy.

I was resigned to losing Andreu in the summer. Not now.

Players come to us for lower than average wages because they know that if a bigger club comes in with a decent offer we wont stand in their way. That is what we do. We need the transfer money as we cannot exist as a premiership club with our fanbase.

That's how all smaller clubs operate.
We're not unique in that respect.

That doesn't mean as soon as someone shows interest in your players, you bend over backwards to gift them away.

Seriously pissed off!!!!!!!

Even opposition fans say we always get great money for our players eg compare the fees for Andreu and Kenny McLean.

The players go but certainly not on the cheap.

I'm hoping it could end up being a good transfer window for us. Maybe the Brazilian/Italian, the Irish lad and the other guy Nico will turn out ok. We might still bring 1 or 2 in.

Other small clubs would love to be in our position. We dont need to sell for lower sums like others, have a look at St Mirren fans going daft because they sold their captain to Aberdeen for 300k. Compare that to Andreu.

Can't compare Andreu and McLean in the same breath.

Tony miles better that McLean.

Gutted to see #22 go but as soon as Norwich expressed their interest it was only about Accies getting the best deal from there (they seem to have done ok if the reported £1m is true). No way can you deny a player that type of move where they will vastly increase their wage and expect to get another 3 or 4 months of effort from them.

I see Dundee United bid about £250k for Scott Allan and were turned down so I think it's unlikely that they would bid any more for Ali Crawford and I would be stunned if we accepted that level of bid for a player who is 23, has plenty of time left on his contract and has been our best player this season.

Striker essential and hopefully no more departures - Loy or Shields and it wouldn't be so bad a window after all.

McLean's a great prospect, Tony is 26 and we are quite lucky to be getting "over a million" as Al Lamont just suggested on BBC News.
