From the Accies website:-

The club can confirm Jamie Hamilton has travelled to English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, where he will spend three days at their training centre.

This isn’t something the club would normally agree to, however, given our close connection with previous manager Billy Reid, we’re happy for Brighton to see Jamie in their own environment.

Jamie will return to Hamilton on Thursday in preparation of our visit to Ibrox on Wednesday 4th March.

The club is very good at generating publicity to try and attract a bidding war for players. Remember Hendrie was supposed to be wanted by a Palace for a million before he went to West Ham for 400k and Preston were in for Devlin, which they denied, before he went to Aberdeen. Or this may be the agent stirring whatever I doubt the first team budget will see any of the money if he goes.

The purpose may be to promote the youth system to potential signings and their parents. Young Jamie has been thrown in earlier than hoped, due to
Stubbs’ departure.
The deal should be 100 games in the first team to facilitate us retain top league status, necessary to fund the system, and to allow us enjoy the player’s skill. A decent length oustanding on the contract, and improvement to a level where a sizeable fee is obtained, with add ons.

Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to open signing talks with Hamilton Academical after 17-year-old defender Jamie Hamilton impressed in training with the English Premier League club's first-team. (Daily Star, print edition)

£300k plus add ons plus 20% sell on fee but we will be told we got a million!

If the lad's got any sense then he would be better to advance his skills over in Germany , it appears that young players are treated better and flourish over there , it's not the same "meat market" as the Premier League.

Oh look he's still an Accies player  I havent bothered posting the link but the latest story has us rejecting a bid from QPR and still anticipating a bid from Brighton. Still havent figured whats going on here. Given he has a contract until end of season 2022 dont understand why we are desperate to sell now? 1 Is this being generated by his agent and his player? 2 Is the club’s financial position actually worse than we have been led to believe and we are desperate for a cash injection or 3 Are they cashing in now anticipating relegation and a drop in the players’ value? Answers on a post card please.

Sounds like pure hype to me. Hamilton, if so impressive, would he not be in the Scotland under 21 squad, along with Lewis Smith?

Nothing happens 'til it happens, with Accies.

He is U19 squad, given he is only 17? and has not played a great deal of football, he keeps getting bloody sent off, think that is about right.
