Hibees v Accies

Postby TerracingTomas » Mon Jan 20, 2020 2:38 pm

Just in case we forget there is a game on wednesday. Hibs have had one less rest day than us and it was apretty demanding cup tie at that. Hopefully some of their key players picked up a injury!! Watched most of the cup tie on the tele and Hibs bossed the first half but didnt capitilise on the pressure and went in 1 - 1. Came out scored early but couldn’t hold onto the lead so while the change of manag rhas helped they are still not without their weaknesses. Ive no idea what team we will put out but I would take a draw quite happily.

Good news that their defence is badly hit by injuries.

Looking forward to it.

BBC half time summary. Despite Hibs having nearly 60% possession we sound as though we bossed the first half.

HALF-TIME Hibernian 0-1 Hamilton
Hamilton are well worth their lead at Easter Road.

The visitors have been determined and well organised and took their one golden chance when Alex Gogic rose above his marker and headed home a corner at the back post on 18 minutes.

Hibs look anxious and devoid of ideas. Hamilton look right at home.

Sounds like Hibs were too strong for us second half.

We played really well in the first half and should have scored more. Hibs were murder and the crowd were on their backs.
I don’t know what happened but we just fell out of it in the second half.

Probably got the result we expected, but not in the way we expected.

First half we were excellent and made Hibs look really poor, with Gogic's goal coming from one of a number of good offensive situations. On the flipside from the Motherwell game, the second half wasn't as good and we really fell out of it. I thought the subs changed things, they got better when they made their changes and we got less and less effective when we made ours as the second half wore on. We just couldn't match the intensity we had earlier and couldn't hold the ball up front.

Thought Gogic and McMann were excellent throughout, Martin and Easton did well, OFW had a couple of terrific blocks/saves, but the quality off the benches really made the difference and while it was a good effort, in fairness they probably deserved the win, particularly on the second half showing. Oh well.
On the outskirts of nowhere, on the ring road to somewhere, on the verge of indecision, I'll always take the roundabout way.
