Crowd v Edinburgh - 1040

Bonnyrigg Rose v Clyde 2,213
Arbroath v Falkirk 1,733
Ayr v ICT 1,538

In case your wondering we had a bigger crowd than

EK v BSC 671
Alloa v ICT 590

To only have 370 more fans than a lowland league clash is diabolical.

What is the club doing to address this or do they simply not care and couldn’t care less?

Airdrie took 1,500 to Tynecastle

What would suggest the club does Big Wurzil? The club reduced the prices yesterday in agreement from Edinburgh City

Would be intrigued to know what you would suggest as ticket prices reduced v a bottom tier league side was never going to fill the stands.

We haven't been getting big crowds at home games for a long while, I'm not sure what the club can do to be honest , reducing prices and bring a friend offers can help but at the end of the day it's all about getting results on the park. A team that consistently wins will attract bigger crowds

The romance of the cup is fine and for teams like Broxburn and Bonnyrigg it was like their cup final , Airdrie must have fancied their chances against Hearts but nevertheless that was a great travelling support. The last time I remember us having an away support like that was when we played Thistle away in the cup when we were in the Championship.

We'll just keep plugging but maybe just maybe we'll get a good cup run and the fans have a good away day against a beatable opponent.

There wasn't anything remotely near to 900 Accies fans. Probably more like 500. £15 £10 is still far too much for a game like that, especially the kids price. £12 & £5 would have been acceptable. Maybe then 900 Accies fans would actually have turned up.

Ayr v Ross county 1,538
I think our youth team was getting about double that for their cup games not so long ago.

Was never going to be a great crowd due to: a)The opposition b)Too high pricing for such a game and c) in January when folk are skint.

More worrying for me is another banning of a supporter who attends weekly home and away due to comments on a Social Media site.A poor show indeed as that is the second fan banned this season.

As a club,we should be busting a guy to get lapsed fans back...not banning those already in attendance for petty reasons.

Finally, you can't compare us to lower leagues sides playing SPL teams as this is the "big day out" for such teams. The likes of Airdrie will be back to 600 fans next home game and Broxburn 100 odd,so a bit daft to cite these examples for one off games.

£15 to watch us play a league 2 team was far too much. No surprise the crowd was pish.

I went into the vaults post match and it was full of Celtic fans watching their game on the tele. Perhaps they were all shopping in the precinct and got off the train at Hamilton West for a pee en route back home to Glasgow.

The likelihood is, however, that they were locals. Scottish football at its best in that here was a bunch of lads watching “their” team whilst the local fare was a mere 1/4 mile away. Nothing will of course ever change fans supporting a team for religious reasons (not saying that this is the reason why they support who they do, but ask any of them WHY they support who they do and they won’t be able to respond without sounding like bigots).

And this is the major reason why we’ll never have big crowds. Too many locals travelling down the M74.

However. That doesn't disguise the fact that our crowds are falling from the hitherto levels a couple of years ago. Is it poor performances? Apathy? Negativity? Pies are mince?? Who’s to say. Maybe all of the above.

All that us lot can do is still turn up, support the players (or heckle them!) and hope that our club will attract folk who normally would never think about going to NDP. The scumwell can do it, so maybe one day we’ll have the same support.

Up the Accies.
FTW.

Not a surprise really YOH. Dont know anything about the circumstances but the club have been using this tactic for several seasons now. If you have ‘transgressed' either at a game or on social media you either get called in for a ‘chat’ or you get banned. Its a bit like living in China where all forms of social media and behaviour are monitored. Adhere to Chairman Mcgowans (sorry that should be Mao ;) ) little red book or face the consequences.
