All the summer signings for 19 - 20

Postby TerracingTomas » Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:20 am

With the window shut this is a list of all the summer signings. I haven’t included the boy we signed from Celtic for the development squad. After the pre season friendlies and league cup I feared the worst. More recent results give some grounds for optimism overall. We shall see. Best signing so far by a country mile Stubbs.

1. Markus Fjortoft
25 year old Norwegian defender, recently been playing in Dunedin, New Zealand, for Southern Utd,

2. Brian Easton
31-year-old defender, leaving St Johnstone after 6 years where he won a Scottish Cup medal. Product of our youth academy.

3. Ciaran McKenna
21-year-old defender previously part of the Celtic Academy, before playing for Duke University in America while studying there. He returned to Scotland in January to sign for Falkirk.

4. Blair Alston
27-year-old midfielder who joins us following the end of his contract at Perth side St Johnstone. Blair was at Saints since 2016 and prior to his time in Perth, he spent six years at Falkirk.

5. Owain Fôn Williams
32-year-old goalkeeper. As well as playing for Inverness Caley Thistle, he made 271 appearances including 161 for Tranmere Rovers, also representing Crewe Alexandra, Stockport County, Bury, and Rochdale. He was a member of the Wales squad that reached the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2016.

6. Will Collar
22-year-old Brighton midfielder has agreed a two-year deal. Collar, who played a Carabao Cup game against Southampton last season.

7. Johnny Hunt
28-year-old left back. Left Stevenage after his contract ended. He started his career at Wrexham before spells at Cambridge, Chester and Mansfield.

8. Korede Adedoyin
18-year-old Everton forward has completed a season-long loan move from Everton. He scored 13 goals in 21 appearances for Everton Under-18 team last season.

9. Kyle Gourlay
20-year-old goalkeeper has put pen to paper in 1-year-deal. He was on loan at Elgin last season from then parent club Dundee.

10. David Moyo
The 24-year-old striker joined the club on a 1-year deal from St Albans City, who play in the National League South.

11. Luke Southwood
21-year-old goalkeeper and Under-20s World Cup winner on loan from Reading until January.

12. Sam Stubbs
20-year-old central defender on loan from Middlesbrough FC. Played on loan at Notts County last season.

13. Adrian Beck
22-year old German midfielder on loan from Belgian Second Division side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

According to Daily Record we are the team that made most signings in Premier League

From the list I can see about half of these getting near the first team. Not exactly sure where/when/if the following will play

McKenna
Adedoyin
Gourlay
Moyo
Southwood
Beck

Think the jury is still out on Fjortoft but Stubbs looks to be a decent player

McKenna and Moyo have already played for the first team, Moyo as a sub. I think McKenna is currently injured, subbed at Dingwall.

Judging moyo’s efforts yesterday v Dundee Utd in the reserve game you’d never guess he’s pressing for a start. And as for the young boy from Everton he’s nowhere near the 1st team as he strolled about all afternoon, only interested when he got on the ball and invariably done very little with it when he did get it.
