According to Sky we've signed this 6'4 Brazilian defender on a one year deal.

Hmmm - I hope he's not going to bring with him the tradition of outstanding Brazilian defending that we have come to know and love over the years!

Search for him on YouTube, he likes a good video of himself. I think he's done this as an advert for clubs to have a wee look at what he's all about but it just shows him hoofing the ball up the park....classy!!!

Now confirmed on Twitter. We need numbers so hopefully he will do well - a strange signing by Accies recent standards and this is perhaps a throwback to previous signings when we were in the top level - a few worked and many didn't. Lets hope its the former in this case - no mention of a fee being involved. Lucas on his shirt so that will be easier than his surname

So we've signed the Brazilian who turns out to be Italian. I was told on Twitter that we couldn't sign a Brazilian unless they had full international caps. This is all very clandestine.

I think its quite common for a lot of south americans to have dual nationality through parents who may have emigrated. So you find there south americans who are also Italians, Portuguese or Spanish passport holders making it easy for them to play in any EC country with out having to worry about residency or international qualifications. Unless we are told otherwise I assume Tagliapietra falls into that category. Doesn’t Messi hold dual Argentinian/Spanish nationality? Don’t really care as long as he can play. Assuming he signs of course (Oooops he has signed  )

How do we end up signing a player like this?

I am not being critical just curious as to how he ends up on our radar; a player who we must start off with absolutely zero knowledge about - via an agent presumably - but what differentiates him from the crowd of folk that must get put our way?

I wonder given the Brazilian/Portuguese/Italian connection it was the same agent who pushed the Paixo twins our way. it's the only thing I can think of.

AC has been our best player this year with MG,Zig,GG and #22. AC signed an extension as he respects Accies.

This signing smacks of the Billy Reid type signing policy. Very scattergun!!
Anybody got any gen on this guy (outside Wikipedia)

Time will tell if he's a decent signing or not.

Does this mean Canning intends to be on the subs bench more?

I always thought the twins were spotted when Billy took the team to Spain.

Does anyone actually know how Accies got this player.

At least when SITM was on the fans forum, we got some sort of clues.

Where's the inside information these days.
It's very poor!
