This merits a separate thread, so BOD, we're still waiting on some specific information.

Why an increase of over 10% without sufficient notification?

Sufficient notification would assume there was a thought out strategy Porcupine  Ive 2 theories for what its worth. One Ive expressed before that the million pound scam hurt us more than was admitted and this is part of an attempt to recoup some of the loss. Two, these old firm and motherwell home games cost us more than any other to police and steward. The Motherwell game over the last few seasons has had a bit of edge to it between supporters and I got the impression that there were a lot more stewards in attendance on saturday certainly in the away stand. If the club is serious about ensuring our safety then perhaps we will see more stewards in the home section for the old firm games to take prompt action against old firm interlopers. If it is to cover increased match costs why not come out and say it.

Correct, TT. There could well be financial reasons why the Club wishes to maximise income from well attended, or higher policed games. However, by having early & clear communication to its supporters, those that run the Club could take a lot of heat off themselves in situations like this. Our 'Updated' Club web site shows the complete pricing basis for this season, and it is duplicitous to come up with another higher price 'on-the-day'.

As paying customers, surely a clear price list is fundamental to any person wishing to buy a service or a product. We are NO different to that, and the least we should have now, is a statement from the Club to indicate which, if any, future matches are to be priced up.

Perhaps disingenuous or duplicitous are words which might be looked at by those who took the pricing decision?

I stayed away in solidarity with those who couldn't afford it but it wasn't easy and it's fair to say I'd have been gutted to miss a win. It almost as if the club has given up on the walk-up trade and know most of their fans will have season tickets ( about 700 I gather). And sod the away fans, of course. I'm amazed Motherwell brought so many.

The thing is they’ll recoup the money on the kids at the kiosks, how many kids go to a game and get a hot dog and a juice and the mark up in those is massive.

That'll probably be a concession, BW, and, if so, the Club wont get any profit there. However, the Club should be selling the concession each season at a realistic price, which in turn will allow the concessionaire to hopefully sell their wares at a keen enough price to get repeat business. You are spot on where kids usually want a juice or an eat at the game, of course.

It is a scandalous decision to charge £15 for young children at Accies. Those that make these decisions have clearly never had to put their hand into their wallet to gain paid entry into a football match. They may be people of independent means, of course, where cash is available from somewhere at all times? £55 for one parent plus 2 children?? And from taxed income?? Explain rationale. The £38 under 18's ticket is, of course, the answer, even now, if this increased pricing is to continue.

Meantime, we risk killing the genuine supporters bringing the next future generation along to support their Club, yet I understand that there are wads of free tickets handed out to some on a regular basis.

FCSLO has been strangely quite on this subject

Now now Porcupine that’s very unfair on the Liaison Officer. He’s already given us an explanation

“After discussions with our board of directors and recent fan feedback, these prices will be increased for both home & away fans going forward for season 2019/20.”

Mind you he could have clarified it was Dundee fans that asked for the increase !!

A quote from Neil Doncaster in 2017.

“All 42 clubs continue to endeavour to make football as affordable as they can for their supporters and we will continue to work closely alongside them to help them achieve that.”

Well that’s worked well Neil.

It's an apology from me to the LO as I now see the post of 02 August on the Old Firm + Well price increases. Somehow I read that Concessions were the over 65's and did not include children under 18.

Still think that the Directors should have a re-think on the O/F + M pricing for kids. OK, there's a possibility of a sell out on the OF, and an adult seat is worth more income than a child, but are we not still shooting ourselves in the foot for our future fan-base?

Or does no-one else, other than those who have posted, care?

Apologies I have been pretty quiet the past week or so my day job is working for a bank which I’m sure everyone is aware is about to see an end to the biggest complaints factor ever seen in the banking/financial services industry so 60 hr working weeks recently have become normal.

I have been in almost contact with the club throughout the summer on this matter as I felt the message needed to be loud and clear on this for this exact reasoning.

Club costs are in the main the same for most matches with the exception of some matches which in turn means that this cost for many seasons now has been absorbed in by the club however we must remember that the rising costs of many of the services required means that inevitably the club has to look at what is financially viable for it to keep itself as competitive on the pitch and keep our first class youth academy at its optimum.

As I have said on many times feedback is always welcome and I’d urge you to get in contact with my via email or directly to the club in relation to any matter. Feedback was presented to the club last season many times on many different matters and a review of the pricing structure took place alongside lots of other changes that have happened around the club during the close season, The club cannot make differing prices for home and away fans which means it’s an across board increase for the 3 games in question, this could be construed by us as fans as also an opportunity for a season book to be purchased as this makes this more cost effective for you if you are regular attendee of home games however I understand the constraints on fans lives and that this may not be possible,

£15 a concession per game or £38 an U18 for the entire season I know what option is more appealing to me and should be taken up so to suggest the clubs shooting itself in the foot for me isn’t a valid argument as it’s made itself amongst if not the most appealing priced season book for our future fans in the country.

Walk up fans isn’t as big as you would think (home end) and a lot lot less than I envisaged it’s clear that buying a season ticket as a Hamilton fan is the cheapest way forward if applicable and ensures your seat for all 18 home league games, I continue to work with the club in the hope of being able to create a finance agreement type arrangement to spread the cost of this however I cannot guarantee a timescale on this.

I trust this lengthy response answers many of the above questions however if you wish please contact me directly and I’ll happily clarify anything further.

Finally if you haven’t claimed your PPI you have until 11:59pm Thursday 29/08 to do so do this directly to your bank / financial service provider not one of those pesky CMC companies.

Well thanks for that. I have been a season ticket holder for many years but as I said elsewhere, I am only able to attend around 9 games this season so a season ticket is not the way forward for me.
So message read and understood. Looks like back to the Bon Accord from now on. I'm sure they will appreciate the custom.

Agree that season ticket is the way forward. Accies are no different from any other Club in that respect. Its the marketing of the season ticket that is poor.
1. We are usually the last to announce what next seasons’prices are going to be. I appreciate that’s often because we don’t know what division we are going to be in but the club should be ready to go as soon as that’s settled. 2. No early bird incentive unlike every other premiership club 3. No finance plan option which would be a godsend for some (Good to hear your trying to get them to see sense SLO) and 4 No real marketing of the season ticket. It’s on the website and with a bit of luck the Advertiser carries a very small bit. Try a proper advert in the Advertiser and why not the EK news and the Lanark and Carluke Advertiser ? Try some giveaways e.g. First person to renew gets a shirt. Next ten get baseball caps Next 90 get mugs etc. The club has made an event of the shirt launch why not the launch of the season ticket?

Thanks to Sean for the lengthy response, but I am afraid that I am no wiser as to why I am being asked to pay £3 more to watch Motherwell than I do to watch Hearts, Hibs, Kilmarnock etc etc
In particular, the paragraph beginning "Club costs are in the main the same for most matches with the exception of some matches.." is very puzzling, to say the least. Anyway, I don't think that anyone is blaming the SLO,and I apologise if my previous comments gave that impression. To do so would be the classic "shooting the messenger" exercise. It looks like there will be no explanation, or at least none that makes any sense. We can only hope that in the light of the adverse comments, a rethink takes place before the next game involving a proposed increase.

From what was said, the visits of Celtic, Rangers and Motherwell will be at the higher price this season, where the greater crowd numbers need more stewards and poilice.

As has been said before, it'll be interesting to see how those stewards and police will deal with standing away support, opposition fans in the home areas, and all other undesirable incidents.

Interesting though, maybe the extra stewards and police were responsible for no flares from the Well supporters last week, first game for ages where we thankfully had none. (though there were some strange trousers seen at the away end )

TT, I fear is p****ng against the wind, if he thinks anyone at the Club will take note of his very worthwhile marketing suggestions. So sad!

Just as a comparison, just seen the Celtic price tickets for their european games and its £24 per ticket. Not too bad to watch Lazio, Rennes and Cluj.

And we want the same to watch Livingston, Ross County or St Midden
