League Cup V Clyde

Postby TerracingTomas » Wed Jul 17, 2019 12:10 pm

Will make my way through tonight obviously deflated from Saturday. Anything but a win would be dare I say it disastrous and I am expecting a reaction from the players. The only bonus from a poor result would surely bring home to the powers that be that further significant recruitment is required. It would be no surprise if ICT are holidng out for cash for Dorans. Its no secret that their finances are in a poor state and they have no Ross County Roy to bail them out. Presumably we are scrabbling around looking for a cheaper alternative. Anyway here’s hoping for a morale boosting 3 - 0 win :o

Just think of the fun we could have had with the "phised"£900k in the transfermarket if the powers that be looked after the Club funds in the proper manner.
Instead we have no option but to shop in the Poundland market instead of John Lewis or Waitrose.
Could have been in the market for a Lawrence Shankland if the Club was run professionally and not a pathetic Charity doss house.
3 nil Clyde.
Rice Out.

We’re going to win the league
We’re going to win the league
Rice back in
Rice back in
We’re going to win the league

Well that was much better all round. Still vulnerable at the back but Fon Williams had some excellent saves, Mackenna coming along nicely, Mcmann has one of his better games in Accies shirt with a goal to boot and Smith looked very confident Still need a couple of quality signings. And the lynch mob have to wait another game before they hang Rice high.

Much more like it attacking wise as could easily have doubled our tally, but still ropey at the back at times worryingly.

Special mention to Lewis Smith who played fantastic:a two footed player who delivered some great crosses with his weaker left foot and on another day would have had a hat-trick.

YoH,

Am I watching a different Lewis smith from you? His weaker left foot ?

He is the most one sided left footed player I’ve seen in a while, every free kick he took last night was left footed, I don’t recall one right footed cross, he must’ve cut in about 3/4 times in the first half alone and shot with his weaker left foot, he scored with his weaker left foot.

What I will say and agree with you is he was fantastic and he is a shining light of creativity in a team that’s crying out for creation. Rice will find it difficult to leave him out. Saw him at the rovers and again was excellent. But rovers and Clyde were 4th tier teams last season, Saturday v partick will be an interesting step up in quality for him to deal with.

Definately stands out as a talent and hopefully can cement his place in this season’s team.

Lewis Smith sent in two cracking crosses with his right foot first half which should have led to two goals for us Big Wurzil.

Just noticed I typed in weaker left foot by mistake when it should have been said weaker right foot.
